Faculty of Sociology
1. OVERVIEW
The Faculty of Sociology has been established for more than 15 years and is one of the first and biggest faculties in Sociology nation-wide. In addition to producing those who are qualified in Sociology, the Faculty is to provide programs in Social Work for other institutions in Vietnam. Its history can be dated back to some of its predecessors as follow:
- In 1976: The Department of Sociology was established in Hanoi General University.
- In 1991: The Faculty of Social Psychology was established in Hanoi General University.
- In 1998: The of Sociology was established at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities-Hanoi based on its predecessors.
The number of its faculty: 26 including three associate professors, seven PhD holders, 10 MA holders and six BA holders; 23 out of them are lecturers and three are staff.

3. TRAINING PROGRAMS
- Fulltime and non-fulltime BA Program in Sociology and Social Work;
- MA Programs in Sociology, and in Social Work (coming); MA Program in Organization Management in collaboration with Toulouse II, France.
- PhD Program in Sociology, and in Social Work (coming).
- Transitional Programs: Equivalent to BA program in Sociology and Social Work
- Short-time Programs: Providing short-time/certificate programs for continued study for those who are working at governmental and provincial agencies in the area of sociology.

5. INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Some key international partners: Michigan University, The Ford Foundation and Arkansas University (USA), Paris University VII (France), Moscow State University (Russia), Melbourne University (Australia), Lund University (Switzerland), Passaux University and Bielefld University (Germany), Fukushima University (Japan) and other international organizations and foundations such as Radda Barnen, UNDPA, UNICEF, SIDA and Toyota Foundation.
