(1) Based on systematizing theoretical studies on land, land acquisition, land use, land use rights, opportunities and development, the thesis has built the concept of development opportunities and clarified some related concepts.

(2) By combining the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods of Sociology, the thesis has pointed out the current situation of land reclamation policies and guidelines in Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province and analyzed the development opportunities of the group of residents whose land is reclaimed when implementing land reclamation and site clearance policies.

(4) The thesis has proposed several recommendations to improve the effectiveness of implementing land acquisition and site clearance policies, thereby creating development opportunities for households whose land has been acquired.
