10. Summary of the thesis results:

This thesis clarifies the theoretical issues of using social media in developing the brand of online newspapers; it surveys the practical methods used by three newspapers: VnExpress, VTC News, and VietnamPlus. Simultaneously, the thesis conducts a public survey to assess the effectiveness of VnExpress, VTC News, and VietnamPlus's use of social media to develop their newspaper brands. The greatest contribution of the thesis is its clarification of the relationship between the use of social media and the brand of an online newspaper, both from a theoretical perspective and supported by practical survey data.

11. Practical applicability: With the data obtained from the survey and the proposed solutions, the research results of this thesis can serve as a reference for newspapers such as VnExpress, VTC News, and VietnamPlus, as a basis for developing their own social media strategies.

The thesis's purposes are clarifying the theory of using social media in developing the online journalism's brand and investigating the methods that VnExpress, VTC News and VietnamPlus have used. Besides, the readers of these journals have been asked by a survey so that the effects of using social media in developing these Journals' brand could be evaluated. The biggest contribution of the thesis is showing the connections between the usage of social media and the online journalism's brand, both theory and fact.

Together with the data and suggestions, this thesis might be a useful reference for VnExpress, VTC News and VietnamPlus to design the strategy to develop their brands on social networking sites.
