University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU

On October 21, 1995, the Faculty of International Studies was officially established, marking the birth of the first International Studies training facility in the Vietnamese university education system (at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU).

The victory of the August Revolution and the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam opened a new era in the evolutionary history of the Vietnamese nation – the Era of Independence and Freedom.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of International Studies (1995-2025), our teacher - Dr. Le The Que - Former Head of the Faculty of International Studies, who was attached to the early days of the formation and development of the Faculty - sent to the collective of teachers, students and alumni an emotional poem titled: "Nostalgia for the Faculty of International Studies". The editorial board would like to respectfully introduce it to teachers and generations of students and alumni of the school!

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of tradition, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Hanoi will coordinate with the school to organize a special traditional Iranian music performance on Monday, October 13, 2025.

This is the theme of the international scientific conference held this morning, October 10, 2025, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with the participation of many prestigious domestic and international scientists.

The above topic received many discussions from domestic and international scientists at the international scientific seminar organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi this morning, October 10, 2025.

Today, October 8, 2025, the second International Science Forum between four universities in Vietnam and Taiwan (China), with the theme: "Research and teaching in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities in contemporary Vietnam and Taiwan (China): Development trends and dynamics" was held with the participation of 60 domestic and international lecturers and scientists.

The conference on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 03/NQ-CP of the Government and deploying a number of key science and technology (S&T) plans was organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on September 22, 2025 with the participation of the Party Committee, Board of Directors and leaders of the school's units.

That was the direction of the Chairman of the Council, Director of Hanoi National University Hoang Minh Son at the working session with key leaders of the expansion of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the afternoon of September 16, 2025.

The training course on teaching Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese teachers is a program organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) as the professional host.
