The men's soccer team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) entered the 2022 tournament along with 16 other teams, determined to defend their championship title in the Hanoi National University tournament.
In the opening match, USSH defeated the Student Support Center team with a minimal score (1-0), thereby securing their first 3 points. The player who scored the first goal for the team was Nguyen Quoc Huy (number 08).

On the morning of November 19, 2022, in the second match of Group A,
USSH TeamThey secured a 3-0 victory against the Combined Team 2, thereby earning an early spot in the quarterfinals.

On November 24, 2022, the USSH team faced their "neighbor," the University of Natural Sciences. The match was extremely tense because the University of Natural Sciences team needed to win to advance. With a 1-1 draw, the USSH team officially advanced to the quarterfinals as the winner of Group A.
Continuing their winning streak and affirming their status as defending champions, the USSH team secured a convincing 2-0 victory against the International School team in Quarterfinal 1.
As expected, the semi-final match between the two teams with a long history of rivalry, USSH and the University of Foreign Languages (UFL), took place on the evening of December 8th and was extremely tense and exciting until the very last minute. The official starting lineup for USSH included: Trinh Van Bang (Goalkeeper), Nguyen Tuan Anh (Captain), Nguyen Van Thuy, Dao Tuan Anh, Ngo Tuan Thang, Pham Huy Cuong, and Nguyen Quoc Huy.

The players of the football team took photos with the enthusiastic fans of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities before the match started.
With the home advantage, the University of Foreign Languages team launched a relentless attack, increasing pressure on goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang's goal. And in a moment of brilliance from player number 11, the University of Foreign Languages team took a 1-0 lead. But immediately afterwards, under the decisive leadership of captain Nguyen Tuan Anh (player number 7), the entire USSH team played with focus and cohesion, defending solidly but ready to attack when opportunities arose.
When necessary, the entire team, including the forwards, dropped deep to create a solid defensive wall in front of goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang's goal.
And a "masterpiece" came after a well-executed indirect free-kick right in front of the opponent's goal. Instead of shooting directly, player Nguyen Tuan Anh feigned a move, then passed the ball to player Dao Tuan Anh who curled the ball through the dense wall of the Foreign Language University team. The 1-1 draw was maintained until the end of the two halves. Defenders Pham Huy Cuong and Nguyen Quoc Huy did an excellent job of closing down and tightly marking, minimizing the aerial balls and headers of the tall striker of the opposing team.
The free-kick goal was a very well-executed, high-class move by the USSH team.
The two teams had to go to a tense penalty shootout. Only three chances were given to three players from each team. Nguyen Van Thuy (number 10) and Dao Tuan Anh (number 25) calmly shot straight into the net, giving the opposing goalkeeper no chance to save. In the final round, the responsibility fell heavily on goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang and player Nguyen Quoc Huy (number 8). But with their experience, composure, and individual skill, the USSH players ended the shootout with a 3-2 victory.
Goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang was very focused, and as a result, successfully saved the opposing team's striker's powerful penalty kick.
Congratulations to the USSH men's soccer team on their victory. The opportunity to defend their championship title is now very close as the USSH team will face the VNU Hanoi Agency team in the final.
