(Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies)This program trains domestic and international experts with advanced knowledge of the Vietnamese language in relation to theoretical issues connected with the practical aspects of Vietnamese language, culture, country, and people. Graduate students in this field are capable of conducting independent research and working in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary environments; they also possess the ability to organize research on issues within the field of Vietnamese language and related topics in Vietnamese studies.
Upon completing their doctoral program in Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies, doctoral candidates will become independent researchers in their trained fields, meeting the societal demand for high-quality human resources to serve Vietnam's economic and social development strategy, and fulfilling the needs of Vietnamese studies both domestically and internationally.
By participating in the doctoral program in Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies, doctoral students will update and develop an advanced knowledge system regarding the Vietnamese language, providing comprehensive and advanced knowledge about the characteristics, rules, and trends of the Vietnamese language; and update and develop an advanced knowledge system in the field of country studies in Vietnamese research through factors such as: culture, society, literature, art, economics, politics, religion, diplomacy, law, etc., of Vietnam.
After graduation, PhDs in Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies can undertake professional work related to various fields of social sciences, particularly excelling in jobs requiring comprehensive, interdisciplinary research; teaching and conducting in-depth research on the Vietnamese language, culture, society, history, economics, politics, literature, art, and the country and people of Vietnam at educational institutions, training centers, academies, and research institutes both domestically and internationally. Under certain conditions, PhDs specializing in Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies can develop into experts in analyzing and advising on issues related to the Vietnamese language, the country and people of Vietnam; and on policies and development potential in culture, society, economy, tourism, investment, environment, etc., at state management agencies, companies, organizations, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, and international organizations. In addition, graduates have many opportunities to take on jobs related to professional activities such as: teaching Vietnamese language and culture; managing and reviewing at domestic and international publishing houses; working in the fields of journalism and media; and working in agencies within the political system…
