The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, Dr. Pham Hoang Hung - Head of the Department of Cooperation and Development, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Van Quan - Head of the Faculty of History, along with the Faculty Board, representatives of the Museum of Anthropology, the Center for Research and Promotion of Cultural Resources, and lecturers of the Department of Culture and Archeology of the Faculty of History.
On behalf of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province, there were Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Department; Ms. Tran Viet Phuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Department; Ms. Vu Thanh Lich - Deputy Director of the Department; Mr. Vu Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Department and representatives of leaders of affiliated departments.
In his opening speech, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that there has been a close and long-term cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a long-standing tradition and a leading position in research and training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. In which, History is one of the strengths of the university, not only equipping students with in-depth knowledge of Vietnamese history and world history, but also contributing to preserving and conserving the heritage and traditions of the nation, thereby researching, developing and elevating Vietnamese history in the region and the world. This is the shared vision between the university as well as the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province, along with the commitments to cooperation agreements in the fields of training and scientific research signed in August 2015 between Ninh Binh province and VNU, which will be a solid foundation for long-term cooperation.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan also shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a team of experienced staff and experts with the ability to solve and handle problems from the general to the detailed scale in both theory and practice, in accordance with the needs, functions and tasks in the cooperation and research process of the school and the Department. The successes and practical achievements from both sides are important steps in affirming Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh not only as a historical site in Vietnam but also as an important heritage in the region.
The research results between the two units have been confirmed through many publications and seminars that are urgent and practical for the development of Ninh Binh province, including the Scientific Seminar on Ninh Binh Ancient Pottery: Tradition and Modernity. Therefore, with its position as a key training, research and consulting center in the fields of history - culture, heritage, conservation and especially the harmony between research, conservation and exploitation and promotion of heritage, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will propose a deeper and broader cooperation direction, promoting the dissemination of scientific publications serving the socio-economic development strategy of Ninh Binh province internationally.
Representatives of the two units shared about the cooperation framework between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province in 3 aspects: Cooperation in research, professional consulting; Cooperation and policy consulting; and Cooperation in training and coaching to improve the quality of human resources, effectively and efficiently implement the tasks and powers of officials.
In terms of cultural heritage research in the province, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province need to work together to research, investigate and make statistics on historical relics, thereby developing and building a GIS map of cultural heritage as an important database to serve the construction of the Ninh Binh Provincial Planning; at the same time, connecting the management work of the cultural sector with other management areas, serving the management and promotion of heritage values in cultural economic development and strengthening national security and defense.
In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is also a key consulting partner for the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province in aspects such as: research and communication to promote cultural heritage values; cuisine and culinary culture; design, preservation, restoration and embellishment of historical and cultural relics; sustainable tourism development policies, historical and cultural and spiritual tourism; preservation of craft villages; urban cultural management and urban cultural development planning; management of places of worship; ...
In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities also deploys and develops its strengths in compiling scientific works and publications such as: Encyclopedia of Ninh Binh; Provincial Geographical Records (new set according to national standards), cities, districts, towns; History of the Party Committee of the province, cities, districts, towns; Dictionary of place names and famous people; Investigation, collection and introduction of cultural documents of Ninh Binh province; Projects introducing tangible and intangible cultural heritages of Ninh Binh; Projects introducing collections of typical relics and treasures of Ninh Binh province.
As a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research university, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will cooperate and soon implement key research such as Hoa Lu Center: historical role and cultural heritage (a complete marker of the journey of national restoration; a unique point of national management and governance thinking; cultural heritage and spiritual motivation for local development); Hoa Lu Center in the power relations and interactions of Southeast Asia and East Asia in the 10th century; Ninh Binh History Book Series (many volumes).
With the motto of "considering the maintenance and continuous improvement of training quality, training a team of highly qualified scientific staff with a spirit of autonomy and creativity in teaching and scientific research as a key task and at the same time a "strategic solution" in the long-term development orientation", the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will support the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province in training high-quality human resources for the sector's staff in various fields; at the same time, organizing training courses, fostering staff; short-term training courses to transfer knowledge in the field of research, management, exploitation and promotion of cultural resources.
