The program attracted the participation of 40 lecturers from faculties/institutes, including many lecturers with rich experience in teaching in English.
The training course was organized in a combination of face-to-face and online sessions, instructed by Dr. Vu Thi Thanh Nha (Head of the Faculty of English Language and Culture, University of Foreign Languages, VNU). With experience in training and research, Dr. Thanh Nha brings updated knowledge and modern pedagogical approaches, meeting the requirements of program innovation according to international standards.

The training course consists of 5 core topics, covering the entire range of competencies required for lecturers teaching specialized subjects in English. In Topic 1, lecturers are introduced to international models, challenges and experiences in implementing specialized teaching in English, and practice assessing and setting personal competency development goals. Topic 2 focuses on analyzing learner needs, methods of motivating and supporting learners through information technology - key factors to improve learning efficiency when changing language environments.

Next, Topic 3 provides skills in designing specialized English teaching programs and materials, helping lecturers determine subject objectives, lesson objectives and how to build materials according to output standards. Topic 4 delves into organizing classroom teaching activities, with a system of interactive activities, teaching practice and comments to enhance pedagogical experience. Finally, Topic 5 provides a framework for testing and assessment methods in the EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) classroom, supporting lecturers in building assessment tools in accordance with quality accreditation standards.
Organizing the training course is not only a regular professional development activity but also part of the long-term strategy of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to internationalize the training program, improve the multilingual teaching capacity of the teaching staff, and gradually expand the international cooperation network. This is also an important premise for the University to implement training programs in English, attract domestic and international learners, contributing to affirming the pioneering position of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the Vietnamese higher education system.
