Meeting with the delegation from Yunnan University (China)

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr Hoang Anh Tuan briefly introduced about USSH’s history and training activities as a leading institution of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The Vice Rector also emphasized USSH’s strategy of internationalization and the strengthening of international cooperation. Yunnan University is one of its important partners.

On behalf of Yunnan University, Prof. Li Wei expressed his gratitude for being welcomed by USSH’s Board of Leaders. Speaking at the meeting, he highly appreciated the potential for cooperation between the two leading universities in Vietnam and China. He proposed opening up more specialized courses in the Chinese language; increasing collaboration in conducting research activities; boosting students and lectures exchanges. According to the 1+3 and 2+2 joint training programs, Yunnan University would also commit to grant scholarships to Vietnamese students studying in China.

Prof. Dr Hoang Anh Tuan agreed with the suggestions made by Prof. Li Wei and hoped the two sides would consolidate cooperation in the coming time. He also confirmed USSH would always welcome and do its utmost to help the Chinese students and international students in general.

Yunnan University was established in 1922 and situated in Kunming. It is the first general university in China and the largest public university in Yunnan. It is also the only university in Yunnan and Guangxi entering the top 42 core universities in China. It has 11 institutes featuring different academic disciplines.
