Meeting with the Deputy Head of Cooperation & Development Section, European Union

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr Hoang Anh Tuan introduced about USSH's strategy of promoting international joint training. With the European institutions the University has been conducting common projects such as the Project of developing International Studies Development major in collaboration with College Cork University (Ireland), the Master's Program in Media Management in collaboration with Stirling University (United Kingdom). Since 2016, the University has been a member of the project Strengthening National Research and Innovation Capacities in Vietnam (ENHANCE) sponsored by Erasmus+ Program and European Union (EU).

Mr. Tom Corrie highly appreciated the cooperation between USSH and its European partners. As Vietnam and EU have just signed EVFTA, the opportunities for cooperation between EU and Vietnam's universities further increase. One of the programs suggested by Mr.Tom Corrie to USSH is Jean Monnet Actions, an international program that provides grants for initiatives aimed at promoting efficiency in teaching and studying the European Union. The specific areas covered by this program are diverse, from establishing short-term courses on EU (Jean Monnet Modules), compiling lectures for an EU curriculum, or founding an assembly of experts in EU.

Assoc.Prof.Dr Hoang Anh Tuan said USSH has been offering European Studies under the bachelor's program in International Studies, and is planning to launch a master's program in European Studies. Thus, it is necessary to gain support for improving the teaching of this major. The University will take a closer look at the details of Jean Monnet Actions regarding the proper proposals to be sent to the European Committee in the future.
