Research activities

Main research orientations

  • Study the theoretical and practical aspects of Office Management in order to define the needs for human resources in office units/bodies of agencies, organizations, and businesses; expand research on applying ISO in office management; office culture; professional ethics; e-transactions, etc.

  • Study the issues concerning administrative theory in the general sense (including both public and private administration); study the administrative procedures, reforms and skills to support training activities.

  • Extend research on systems of management records and examine the specialized types of records.

  • Study different methods of organizing and managing archival operations in agencies, organizations and especially businesses, based on which to continue to expand research to constructing and ensuring databases to support the managerial departments.

  • Strengthen research to identify new theoretical issues in archival studies; promote and make in-depth study of archiving in specialized sectors, e-archives, and digitalization of archives; archives of personal origins, and the promotion of the value of archives.

  • Promote the application of research findings in training activities by compiling, re-publishing and suggesting the publication of textbooks, lectures, monographs, and instructions to be used as references by the staff and students.

Prominent projects and programs in process

  • VNU level: The scientific basis and practical development of Vietnam's archival studies in the context of regional and international integration (chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr Vu Thi Phung).

  • VNU level: Assessment of the archives on China in Vietnam and solutions for their acquisition, examination and usage (chaired by Dr. Dao Duc Thuan). 

  • Textbook in process: Theoretical and practical aspects of archival management, theoretical aspects of office management.
