11. Tóm tắt các kết quả mới của luận án: 

- Luận án đã tổng hợp, giới thuyết một số khái niệm nghiên cứu về nghệ thuật châm biếm, là cơ sở nền tảng lí thuyết soi rọi vào tiểu thuyết của William Thackeray, để thấy tầm vóc triết lý, tiếng cười mang ý nghĩa triết học mà nhà văn đã kế thừa và phát huy truyền thống hài hước châm biếm của nền văn học Anh thế kỉ XVIII. Tiếng cười châm biếm của ông không phải ảnh hưởng của tiếng cười dân gian bình dân, mà mang đặc trưng uy mua kiểu trí thức, hàn lâm, uyên bác nên tiếng cười ấy dí dỏm, hóm hỉnh vừa ý nhị, hài hước vừa sâu xa, thâm thúy.

- Nghệ thuật châm biếm của Thackeray không đơn thuần là kĩ thuật ở mặt hình thức mà nó trở thành tư duy nghệ thuật chủ đạo của nhà văn, chi phối mạnh đến cách kiến tạo tiểu thuyết, tạo ra màu sắc châm biếm độc đáo cũng như cách phản ánh hiện thực riêng biệt của tiểu thuyết. So sánh với các nhà văn hiện thực cùng thời làm nổi bật nét khác biệt ở Thackeray: nhà văn của chủ nghĩa hiện thực mang màu sắc châm biếm.

- Sự đổi mới kĩ thuật tiểu thuyết của nhà văn, tạo cho tiểu thuyết của ông một dáng vẻ hiện đại và một tinh thần dân chủ sâu sắc. Thackeray tạo ra một trò chơi trong tiểu thuyết, để có thể tạo ra môi trường giao tiếp chia sẻ, đối thoại giữa tác giả và độc giả. Ông thực hiện trò chơi về thể loại, pha trộn nhiều thể loại, nhiều kiểu tư duy nghệ thuật với nhau và tạo nên một người kể chuyện đối thoại trải nghiệm cùng bạn đọc. Nó phá vỡ thế độc tôn của người kể chuyện, xoá bỏ sự đơn điệu về giọng điệu, điểm nhìn trong tác phẩm, tạo nên tính dân chủ trong cách đối thoại với bạn đọc. Nhà văn trao cho bạn đọc điểm nhìn riêng, khơi gợi tính trí tuệ, óc phê phán, phát huy tầm hiểu biết của họ.   

- Cũng qua nghệ thuật châm biếm, Thackeray đã thể hiện một tinh thần giải thiêng đối với thời đại Victoria, vốn yêu cầu con người khắt khe trong cái áo khuôn khổ của nó. Ông đã phá vỡ niềm tin về quy chuẩn đạo đức tâm lí xã hộ, thị hiếu thẩm mĩ của người đọc thời kì Victoria, thay đổi giá trị niềm tin và đạo đức cũ trong lòng xã hội Victoria, xã hội mà người ta mặc nhiên mặc định và đinh ninh là đã định hình các giá trị chuẩn mực cho con người.

12. Khả năng ứng dụng trong thực tiễn:

Các kết quả của luận án có thể được sử dụng làm tư liệu phục vụ cho việc giảng dạy nghiên cứu văn học Anh và tiểu thuyết của nhà văn William Thackeray thế kỉ XIX ở các trường Đại học hoặc dùng để biên soạn giáo trình về nghệ thuật châm biếm trong văn học Anh.

- Xây dựng lí thuyết về nghệ thuật hài hước, châm biếm và ứng dụng, so sánh nghệ thuật châm biếm trong nền văn học thế giới.

11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- The thesis synthesizes some of the concepts and researches on satirical art, as the theoretical for research on William Thackeray's novels, to see philosophical stance and sense of humour inherited and developed from the satirical tradition of British literature in the 18th century.

- Research from different angles: combining the satirical from many kinds of fiction, character, story teller and digression, thesis indicate that Thackeray's satirical art is not only simple as outside form,but also became the the dominant artistic thinking of the writer, strongly influencing the way the novel was organized, and creating the unique color of the satirical art as well as the particularistic color of the novel.

- From the perspective of the document, the thesis also find out  technical innovation in Thackeray's novels, which creates a modern look and a deep democratic spirit. It breaks the uniqueness of a storyteller, eliminating monotony of tone as well as point of view in the writings. The Democracy is demonstrated in dialogue with readers, in which he  give readers their own points of view, arouse their intellectual and critical thinking as well as develop their understanding.

- Through the art of satire, we learn that Thackeray had expressed a spirit of desecration for the Victorian era, requiring the consistency with its framework while all the writers at that time tried to paint and race to express the same spirit, the same face. Thackeray was different, he did not writer novel in a serious sense but he saw it as a game of structure, a joke of humour, a characters like puppets of the play, play their role and get right inside character on the stage of life, he understood that the writer is not a man with a thousand years eyes, but so small, limited, that why their story is dazzlingly twisted as the unfolds reality. There would not have a definite ending or fullness for him.

- His realistic novels have different colors, not merely depicting the outward, but also still there is a chaos of an individual thingking, a experienced narrator. That is the view of a realistic novelist and a sense of an artist who crave for beauty, innovation and creativity in the arts.

- Conversation  is also a prominent feature in his sarcastic tone. It represents openness, sincerity, democracy and equality of novel innovative thinking Thackeray with understanding and sensitivity of a great novelist, has made an ongoing effort to explore a new expression, a new path within the circuit voice narrative . Readers can realize his own charming storytelling and unique attractions

 The results of the thesis can be used as a material for the teaching of English literature and the novel of William Thackeray in the nineteenth century in Universities or the compilation of textbooks on satirical art in English literature.
