On November 3rd, 2018, USSH held an international conference titled "On researching and teaching Vietnamese and Vietnamese studies at universities". The conference gathered experts in Vietnamese language and studies from Vietnam and other universities in the world. Nearly 100 papers were received at the conference.

On May 23rd, 2018, Mr. Giles Lever (United Kingdom's Ambassador to Vietnam) visited and had a meeting with the teachers at USSH's Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language (FVSL) as he had just finished his term in Vietnam. "Social development management in Vietnam: policy directions and solutions"

On August 9th, 2018, the workshop "Social development management in Vietnam: policy directions and solutions" was held at USSH. This was the third workshop under the State-level project "Social development management in Vietnam: reality, issues and policy directions (code KX 04.15/16-20) chaired by Prof. Dr Pham Quang Minh. The workshop helped summarize the findings concerning policy directions and solutions for social development management (SDM) in general and that in Vietnam in particular.

Faculty of International Studies holds seminar on teaching methods

On August 29th, 2018, USSH’s Faculty of International Studies held a seminar on teaching methods with the participation of internal and external staff and lecturers. It addressed the common issues of teaching thinking and methods, the particular methods of teaching International Studies and solutions for improving the activeness and creativity of lecturers and the selection of subjects to be taught in English.

Training workshop “Designing international research projects: skills and experiences”

The workshop was held for USSH’s young lecturers on two days August 17th-18th, 2018. Two main speakers were Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Chinh (USSH) and Prof. Stan BH Tan-Tangbau (RMIT University).
