2.1. General Objectives

The Master's program in History, Historiography, and Source Studies ensures a fundamental and modern approach, providing in-depth knowledge of history and source studies, contributing to the provision of high-quality human resources for the country in the context of integration and globalization.

2.2 Specific Objectives

The Master's program in History, Historiography, and Source Studies aims to provide educational institutions and scientific research organizations with highly specialized human resources in history, historiography, and source studies for teaching and scientific research.

3. Admission Information

• Entrance exam subjects:
  • Basic Examination Subject: Methodology of Historical Studies.
  • Foundation subject: Vietnamese History
  • Foreign Language: Choose one of five languages: English, Russian, French, German, or Chinese.
• Eligibility criteria:
  • Applicants for the master's degree program in a specialized field must meet all of the following conditions:
  • He has a clean personal record and is not currently under criminal investigation.
  • Applicants must possess a university degree in a field directly related to (or relevant to) the History and Historiography major; or a full-time university degree in a major closely related to History and Historiography, with additional training to achieve a level equivalent to a university degree in the field for which they are applying.
  • Having sufficient health to study;
  • Submit all required documents, certificates, papers, and examination fees in full, correctly, and on time, as stipulated by Hanoi National University and the training unit.
• List of related fields, fields suitable for the proposed field or specialization for which training is permitted.
  • Related fields are those where 60-90% of the coursework overlaps with the History program, such as Philosophy, Oriental Studies, International Studies, Vietnamese Studies, Political Science, Archival Studies, and Anthropology.
  • The suitable major is History at universities nationwide, or a major with at least 90% of its courses overlapping with the History program.
