The University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU Hanoi always considers external relations a crucial pillar in its development strategy. Besides maintaining and expanding cooperation with domestic agencies, localities, businesses, and organizations, the University also establishes a wide-ranging international cooperation network with many prestigious universities, research institutes, and educational organizations worldwide.

To date, the University has established cooperative relationships with over 200 partners from more than 30 countries, including Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, South Korea, the United States, Russia, Japan, New Zealand, France, Thailand, China, Singapore, Australia, and the United Kingdom. With its extensive foreign cooperation foundation, reputable international partner network, numerous academic exchange programs, exemplary collaborative projects, and diverse scholarship system, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has been affirming its position as a leading training and research center in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, and as a prestigious academic institution trusted by international friends and partners.
Extensive network of partnershipsThe university has signed approximately 800 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with universities, research institutes, foundations, and international organizations. Among them are many prestigious universities worldwide, such as: Australian National University (Australia), University of Nottingham (UK), University of Cologne, Humboldt University (Germany), National University of Asia and Africa (Russia), Université du Québec – Abitibi-Témiscamingue (Canada), Peking University (China), Fukushima University, Ibaraki University, Daito Bunka University (Japan)…
Faculty-student exchangeEach year, approximately 200 faculty members and students from the School participate in international exchange programs; at the same time, 20 international professors and scholars come to work, teach, and conduct research at the School.
Attracting international studentsCurrently, there are approximately 200 full-time international students (Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD) and nearly 1,000 short-term international students studying at the University. In addition, the University implements international training programs in the (2+2) and (3+1) formats with many partners such as Guangxi Nationalities University (China), University of Toulouse Le Mirail (France), Bansomdejchaopray Rajabhat University (Thailand), University of Stirling (United Kingdom), and University of Naples L'Orientale (Italy).
Projects and collaborative programsThe university has been implementing numerous domestic and international projects to enhance its teaching, research, and management capabilities. Notable programs include "Raising Awareness and Understanding of Legal Rights for Women and Girls" (Oxfam – UK), "Asian Think Tanks and Leadership Network" (Stockholm Institute for Environment – ​​Sweden), "Youth and Sustainable Ecological Transition" (Rosa Luxemburg Foundation – Germany), "Building a Japanese Research Network" (Toshiba Foundation for International Exchange – Japan), the project "Applying Generative AI in Teaching and Learning" (Meta Group – Singapore), and "Hanoi Heritage Tourism Journey" (French Embassy in Vietnam). These projects and programs not only contribute to improving research and teaching capabilities but also affirm the university's pioneering role in international academic networking.
Scholarships and academic supportThe university actively seeks scholarships both domestically and internationally, creating opportunities for hundreds of faculty members, lecturers, and students to study, research, and participate in academic exchanges in many countries such as the United States, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Simultaneously, the university implements and accepts numerous diverse scholarship programs for students, including: SHB scholarships, Dao Minh Quang Foundation scholarships, AEON 1% scholarships, VietTimes scholarships, Posco (South Korea) scholarships, SJ Tech Oresol scholarships, Dinh Thien Ly scholarships, and scholarships to attract talent for 9 basic science majors, etc. These scholarships not only encourage students' academic and research spirit but also provide practical support to those in difficult circumstances, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and affirming the university's reputation.
