2. Objectives of the training program

2.1. General objectives

Training masters in the major of Vietnamese Cultural History with basic, modern knowledge and in-depth methods of History and Culture, with initial capacity for independent research and research organization, with the capacity to operate well in the field of Cultural History, contributing to providing high-quality human resources for the country in the context of integration and globalization.

2.2 Specific objectives:

- Providing basic and systematic knowledge of Vietnamese cultural history, improving the ability to apply research into practice of socio-cultural history;

- Providing basic knowledge and a system of specialized and interdisciplinary research methods on history and culture, meeting the requirements of traditional and contemporary cultural research in the era of cultural integration;

- Can develop capacity in the fields of history and culture in educational institutions, scientific research agencies, departments, branches and sectors doing teaching, scientific research and practical activities.

3. Admission information

- Entrance exam subjects:

• Basic exam: Historical methodology;
• Basic exam subject: Vietnamese History;
• Foreign Language: 1 of 5 languages: English, Russian, French, German, Chinese;

- Admission objects: Candidates applying for the master's training program must fully meet the following conditions:

+ Have a clear personal history, not currently being prosecuted for criminal liability;

+ Have a university degree in the correct (or appropriate) major of Vietnamese Cultural History; or have a regular university degree in a major close to Vietnamese Cultural History, and have taken additional courses to have a level equivalent to a university degree in the major registered for the exam;

+ Be healthy enough to study;

+ Submit all diplomas, certificates, documents and exam fees in full, in accordance with procedures and on time according to regulations of Hanoi National University and the training unit.

- List of related majors and majors suitable for the proposed major or major for training:

+ Related majors are majors with 60 - 90% of the number of credits overlapping with the History program, such as Philosophy, Oriental Studies, International Studies, Vietnam Studies, Political Science, Archival Studies, Anthropology;

+ Suitable majors are History majors at universities nationwide, or majors with at least 90% of credits overlapping with the History major's program.
