Achievements
Continuing the glorious tradition of generations of soldiers of Uncle Ho and heroic martyrs such as Hero - Martyr Le Anh Xuan (also known as Ca Le Hien), Hero - Martyr Chu Cam Phong (also known as Tran Tien) and 26 other martyrs… who were young lecturers and students from the former Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, who put aside their studies to go to war and bravely sacrificed themselves for the independence and freedom of their beloved Fatherland – immortal individuals at the age of twenty, the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is currently one of the important political and social organizations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and also one of the active core units of Block 487 under the Hanoi City Veterans Association.
Since its establishment, the Association has actively participated in the school's general activities:
- Actively participate in teaching and research activities with the spirit: "Every veteran lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is an educator, a scientist, and a shining example for postgraduate students, trainees, and undergraduates to follow."
- Actively participate in building Party and government organizations at agencies and units within the School; regularly coordinate with trade unions and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to provide care and support to encourage and contribute to improving the material and spiritual lives of each member and meritorious person; educate the younger generation about patriotic traditions, revolutionary heroism, self-reliance, and self-improvement.
- Participate in and effectively carry out exchange activities with Veterans Association units within the 487 bloc; organize and encourage members of the Association to actively participate and contribute fully financially to activities of gratitude and remembrance, and to effectively perform regular tasks assigned by the Hanoi City Veterans Association…
- With nearly 100 initial members at its founding, the Association's membership has now dwindled to almost half that number. This declining membership trend can be considered a common characteristic of Veterans' Associations nationwide, including the Veterans' Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. However, with the inherent qualities of a soldier and the spirit of a Ho Chi Minh's Army soldier, each member of the Veterans' Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, regardless of their circumstances or positions, always strives to overcome difficulties and steadfastly fulfill their assigned duties. During their careers, many comrades have become Professors and Associate Professors (according to statistics, out of a total of 35 members of the Association in 2018, there were 5 Professors and 23 Associate Professors), serving as exemplary role models in learning, teaching, and research for generations of postgraduate students, trainees, and undergraduates throughout the University to emulate.
- In 2016, with great effort, the Association compiled and published the book.Pages of Life– a book of immense significance in affirming the pure and humble qualities of soldiers and veterans who are now working as teachers and scientists, continuing to contribute to the building and development of the country…
