Achievements

Continuing the glorious tradition of generations of Uncle Ho's soldiers and heroic martyrs such as: Hero - Martyr Le Anh Xuan (aka Ca Le Hien), Hero - Martyr Chu Cam Phong (aka Tran Tien) and 26 other martyrs... who were young lecturers and students from the old Hanoi University of Science who put down their pens and went to war and heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the beloved Fatherland - immortal people at the age of twenty, the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is currently one of the important political and social organizations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and at the same time is one of the active core units of Block 487 of the Hanoi City Veterans Association.

Since its establishment, the Association has actively participated in the common activities of the School:

  • Participate in teaching and research activities well with the spirit: "Each Veteran lecturer of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a teacher, a scientist, a shining example for graduate students, trainees and students to follow".
  • Actively participate in building Party and government organizations at agencies and units in the School; regularly coordinate with Trade Union organizations and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to organize care and support to encourage and contribute to improving the material and spiritual life of each member and meritorious people; educate the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, self-reliance and self-improvement for the young generation.
  • Participate and perform well in exchange activities with Veterans Association units in block 487; Organize and encourage Association members to actively participate and contribute fully to gratitude activities and perform well the regular tasks assigned by the Hanoi City Veterans Association...
  • With nearly 100 initial members when it was first established, the number of members of the Association has now dropped to nearly half. The trend of decreasing membership can be considered one of the common characteristics of Veterans Associations in the country in general, including the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. However, with the nature of a soldier and the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, each member of the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, regardless of the circumstances or position, always has the awareness to overcome difficulties and is determined to strive to excel in completing the assigned tasks. During the process of striving, many comrades have become Professors and Associate Professors (According to statistics, out of a total of 35 members of the Association in 2018, there were 5 comrades who were Professors and 23 comrades who were Associate Professors), who are typical examples in studying, teaching and researching for generations of graduate students, trainees and students in the whole University to follow.
  • In 2016, with great efforts, the Association compiled and published the bookBook of life– a book of great significance in affirming the pure and simple qualities of soldiers and veterans who are currently taking on the work of teachers and scientists, continuing to contribute to the cause of building and developing the country…
