When the lesson moves outside the classroom.
The journey began at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with the first destination for the Information and Library Science class being the Ha Long University Library. As a young library undergoing modernization and developing digital library services, it provided students with a vivid insight into the organization and operation of a library within the local academic environment. Topics such as student service models, reading space organization, library operations, and the roadmap for applying digital technology were shared openly and practically, creating a solid foundation for students preparing to enter the real professional environment.

The students had the opportunity to visit the Quang Ninh Provincial Library – one of the most modern public libraries today. With its open architectural design, multi-functional spaces, and powerful technological applications, the library showcased a dynamic, creative, and very accessible model of community service. This was also a rare opportunity for students to see a university library and a public library side-by-side – to compare and contrast them, and to better understand the essential role of the library sector in serving today's knowledge-based society.
Continuing their journey, the students visited the Quang Ninh Provincial Museum – a space that not only preserves the cultural and historical memories of the mining region, but also serves as a "living data center" reflecting how information is organized and displayed in both visual and digital forms. For Information Management students, this is a highly unique model of content communication – where data not only exists in the system but also becomes an emotional experience. For Information and Library Science students, the museum is a repository of living objects, reflecting the principles of conservation, restoration, and digitization of historical documents. Here, both disciplines had the opportunity to learn from each other and broaden their thinking about organizing information in public spaces.

Digital transformation practices and integrated communication
Furthermore, on the morning of July 30, 2025, the Information Management class conducted an in-depth survey at the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center – an integrated press and media agency leading the province's digital transformation roadmap. The working session not only provided students with practical experience in the production, management, and storage of media content, but also shared insights into solutions applying AI, Big Data, and the digitization of local data in administration and public communication. This serves as a prime example of the link between technology and information management, between journalism and data – a potential career trend for Information Management students in the future.

It's not just about learning – it's also a journey of connection.
The most valuable aspect of this trip lies not only in the professional knowledge gained, but also in the collaboration between two seemingly separate fields of study: Information and Library Science and Information Management. Throughout the internship, the students discussed, observed, asked questions, and shared academic perspectives and personal experiences. The complementarity between library professional knowledge and information and data systems thinking created a multi-dimensional "learning ecosystem," contributing to the development of interdisciplinary skills that are highly sought after in today's job market.
Concluding a packed schedule of professional activities was a special evening called Gala Dinner – Connecting and Shining, held on the evening of July 30, 2025. In a warm and brightly lit setting, students from the Information Management and Information-Library Science majors shared moments of exhilaration – where knowledge gave way to emotion, and young hearts beat as one.

K66 Information Management Gala Night
The trip concluded with a sense of nostalgia, bright eyes, and smiles mixed with emotion from the 81 students of K67 – young people preparing to leave the lecture halls and step out into the world. The internship not only provided knowledge and skills but also served as a vivid lesson in flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability in a real-world professional environment.
The Faculty of Information and Library Science believes that the trip to Quang Ninh will be a beautiful memory, an important milestone marking the academic, professional, and personal growth of each student.
