At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, the Bachelor of Religious Studies program has only been implemented since 2016, but research and training in Religious Studies has a long tradition since 1976 at the Faculty of Philosophy, Hanoi National University. Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Kim Oanh - Head of the Department of Religious Studies of the University shared: Knowledge about religion and beliefs is extremely rich, vivid and closely linked to our cultural, economic and social life. It is a source that nourishes the ideology and spiritual world of people, helping us understand the origin and identity of our community and nation. Besides, modern social life is seeing the emergence of new religious and belief phenomena that require explanation and evaluation from the perspective of Religious Science. Therefore, this is an important field of study in Vietnam as well as in the world and society is in great need of university graduates with in-depth knowledge and skills in Religious Studies.
