2. Objectives of the training program
2.1 General Objectives
The goal is to train graduates who possess research ethics, professional ethics, fundamental knowledge of social sciences and humanities and technological knowledge, entrepreneurial aspirations and mindset, basic knowledge of Southeast Asian studies, the ability to solve work-related tasks concerning the Southeast Asian region, proficiency in foreign languages for communication and professional work (English or a regional native language), and the capacity for further study and research at a higher level.
2.2 Specific Objectives
- Students are equipped with fundamental knowledge in social sciences and humanities, technology, foreign languages, history, culture, society, economics, politics, and international relations of Southeast Asia to meet job requirements in an environment of regional integration and globalization;
- Possess proficiency in one of the Southeast Asian languages (English, Indonesian, or Thai), along with research, critical thinking, organizational and social context adaptation, and problem-solving skills;
- Possesses research ethics, professional ethics, and a conscious commitment to self-learning, self-research, and lifelong learning.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01. Systematically apply knowledge of political theory, philosophy, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic issues related to Southeast Asian studies and real-life issues in the contemporary context;
PLO 02. Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, AI application, Vietnamese culture, sociology, and psychology to analyze and address professional issues related to Southeast Asian studies and life issues in the context of the digital age;
PLO 03. Able to apply basic concepts, theories, methods, and knowledge in the fields of social sciences, humanities, and Southeast Asian studies to conduct research and carry out professional activities;
PLO 04. Analyze the basic knowledge of history, culture, society, economics, politics, international relations, literature and art, and languages of countries in Southeast Asia.
2. Regarding skills
PLO 05. Effectively use one of the foreign languages (English/Thai/Indonesian) in communication, learning, research, and professional practice related to the Southeast Asian region. Use English at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used for Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University;
PLO 06. Coordinate research methods, data collection and processing technologies, and presentation of research results in the social sciences and humanities to conduct research and carry out professional activities related to the Southeast Asian region.
PLO 07. Providing critical analysis of historical, cultural, social, economic, political, international relations, and literary and artistic issues in the Southeast Asian region;
PLO 08. Adapt to diverse organizational and social contexts by complying with, integrating with, and successfully fulfilling the task requirements set during internships and practical training;
PLO 09. Apply problem-solving skills to develop a plan for organizing and evaluating a project or practical problem related to Southeast Asia.

4. Job positions that students can take on after graduation.
Graduates majoring in Southeast Asian Studies can take on jobs such as:
- Specialists from central-level ministries, departments, and agencies (such as the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Interior, etc.) and local-level departments and agencies, especially those with activities related to Southeast Asian countries;
- Translators/interpreters, foreign affairs assistants, market development staff, human resources managers, tour guides, etc. in state-owned and private enterprises, foreign enterprises (especially in import-export, tourism, and market development enterprises related to Southeast Asian countries);
- Staff of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, social organizations, embassies of foreign countries in Vietnam, and press and media agencies;
- Lecturers at colleges and universities; teachers at foreign language centers; researchers at research institutes/centers;
- It is possible to start your own business.
5. Opportunities for further learning and professional development after graduation.
- Graduates in Southeast Asian Studies can further enhance their professional skills domestically, particularly by pursuing a master's degree in Asian Studies and a doctoral degree in Southeast Asian Studies;
