2. Objectives of the training program
2.1. General Objectives
- To train graduates in Oriental Studies with firm political and ideological qualities, discipline, professional ethics, and a sense of service to the nation and the people, meeting the needs of socio-economic development while contributing to creating new, groundbreaking values for the community and society;
- To train and provide human resources with Bachelor's degrees in Oriental Studies who master fundamental knowledge of social sciences and humanities, comprehensive and systematic knowledge of Oriental Studies in specialized fields such as Indian Studies, Chinese Studies, and Thai Studies; who are proficient in specialized languages; who have a general knowledge of Eastern history and culture; and who possess flexible and creative thinking, organizational skills, and teamwork abilities.
- Graduates can continue their self-study, pursue higher education, and become experts in their fields; they can act as a bridge to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Eastern countries (especially China, India, and Thailand); and they possess the skills and awareness of a global citizen.
2.2. Specific Objectives
- Possessing a foundational knowledge of social sciences and humanities, as well as in-depth knowledge of Eastern history, culture, and languages, to meet the high demands of a multicultural and globalized work environment;
- Possesses skills in international relations and social communication, and is proficient in a specialized foreign language (English, Chinese, or Thai) for communication and professional work;
- Actively seek out and develop new knowledge, continue learning at a higher level, in order to become a leader and expert in a related professional field;
- Capable of generating ideas, designing, implementing, and operating activities related to Oriental studies in general and specific fields (China, India, Thailand) based on practical research and adapting to the context of the workplace, enterprise, and current society; capable of starting a business.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01. Applying a system of theoretical knowledge in politics, philosophy, society, law, and technology to understand and address academic issues in the field of Oriental Studies to meet job requirements in the contemporary context;
PLO 02. Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and solve professional problems in the field of Oriental Studies to meet job requirements in the context of the digital age;
PLO 03. Analyze knowledge, theories, and methods in Oriental studies for research and professional practice; systematize understanding of the East, relating it to regional and global contexts to analyze and compare professional issues. Simultaneously, apply in-depth knowledge from one of three specializations (Chinese Studies, Indian Studies, Thai Studies) to solve specific problems.
2. Regarding skills
PLO 04. Achieve English or Chinese language proficiency level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University, and be proficient in one specialized foreign language (English, Chinese, or Thai) in communication, study, research, and professional work;
PLO 05. Effectively apply general research methods, specialized research methods, and interdisciplinary research methods to conduct research (synthesis, analysis) on China/India and Thailand in the fields of culture, economics, politics, etc., to identify and solve problems (propose solutions) in a comprehensive and multi-dimensional way;
PLO 06. Organizing ideas, communicating information, presenting, and debating in a logical, accurate, standardized, and persuasive manner within the context of Eastern culture and international integration;
PLO 07. Apply learned knowledge and skills to practice; be able to adapt, form creative ideas, start businesses, and orient career development in fields related to the major and specialization of study.

Graduates of Oriental Studies programs can work in the following places:
- Lecturers at colleges and universities; subject teachers in other training institutions and at all levels of education;
- Researchers at research institutes and centers;
- Office secretary/External affairs assistant at government agencies, offices of multinational companies, companies from China, India, Thailand; joint ventures; or Vietnamese companies;
- Translators/Interpreters at state or private agencies, businesses, and organizations in economic and social fields;
- Specialists/experts responsible for matters related to China and India at central and local government agencies, domestic and foreign organizations, businesses, etc.;
- Ministries and departments (such as the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Interior...), localities, businesses, international organizations/funds both domestic and foreign, research institutes (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences), central and local radio and television stations, press agencies, news agencies, etc.
