2. Objectives of the training program
2.1 General Objectives
The standard undergraduate training program in Sino-Vietnamese studies is designed to train graduates with strong political qualities, solid knowledge and professional competence in Sino-Vietnamese studies, and a certain understanding of several related fields. This will enable them to undertake tasks such as collecting, preserving, translating, researching, exploiting, and teaching Sino-Vietnamese cultural heritage, contributing to the sustainable development of culture from tradition to the present and future.
2.2 Specific Objectives
- To equip learners with fundamental knowledge and systematic thinking about Sino-Vietnamese studies, including general knowledge, foundational knowledge of social sciences and humanities, and knowledge of Sino-Vietnamese studies (Chinese classical literature, Vietnamese classical literature, Nôm script and Nôm texts, theory and professional skills in Sino-Vietnamese studies);
- To develop students' ability to access, interpret, and research Sino-Vietnamese texts, and to utilize the Sino-Vietnamese literary heritage to serve the construction of an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity;
- To foster in learners an attitude of respect for traditional values, awareness and behavior according to social ethical standards, responsible work ethic, and a sense of responsibility in the field of Sino-Vietnamese studies across diverse professions in order to preserve and promote traditional cultural values.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01: Applying basic knowledge of political theory, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic and real-life issues in the contemporary context;
PLO 02: Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and solve professional and life problems in the context of the digital age;
PLO 03: Applying knowledge and research methods from the social sciences and humanities to clarify life's issues from an interdisciplinary perspective;
PLO 04: Apply in-depth knowledge to explain some representative excerpts of Chinese classical texts according to historical periods and schools; analyze issues related to text, vocabulary, grammar, and main content of the Four Books and Five Classics through representative excerpts; systematize the process, function, periodization, characteristics, as well as the main authors and representative texts of Vietnamese classical texts through different periods; systematize basic knowledge of Nom script, Nom texts and in terms of: origin, structure, development…; analyze some Sino-Vietnamese texts through different periods;
PLO 05: Applying basic knowledge of the professional aspects of Sino-Vietnamese studies; knowledge of Sino-Vietnamese heritage, Sino-Vietnamese textual studies, classical Chinese grammar, Sino-Vietnamese lexicography… to professional learning and research activities;
PLO 06: Apply the knowledge gained to undertake vocational training in relevant professional fields.
2. Regarding skills
PLO 07: Proficient in the skills of developing essays or small-scale scientific research in the professional field; capable of using internal and external knowledge of Sino-Vietnamese studies, specialized Sino-Vietnamese research methods, and interdisciplinary research methods to evaluate and exploit the multifaceted historical, social, and cultural values preserved in the Vietnamese Sino-Vietnamese heritage in relation to each other, using a systemic thinking and perspective;
PLO 08: Know how to collect and process Sino-Vietnamese texts in practice: registration, cataloging, diagramming, summarizing content and basic information from texts, photocopying, printing rubbings, preserving texts…; capable of describing texts; punctuation, transliteration, translation, annotation, explanation, introduction and analysis of the basic characteristics of common types of Sino-Vietnamese texts;
PLO 09: Possesses skills in searching and retrieving professional documents using internet and library search tools; proficient in using research support tools such as reference books, digitized Han Nom data, computers, and the internet…
PLO 10: Capable of identifying and generalizing problems from practical experience, possessing critical thinking and analytical skills; capable of communicating issues and disseminating professional knowledge to the community through critical thinking and the ability to accurately and clearly express the issues being considered, presenting professional issues coherently, and using supporting tools when presenting;
PLO 11: Capable of organizing and managing time for work; actively participates in groups in activities such as learning, research, fieldwork, and social and team activities; capable of forming research, teaching, professional, social, and cultural activity groups; possesses leadership, entrepreneurial, and job creation skills for themselves and others.
PLO 12: Capable of using a foreign language (Chinese) academically in the social sciences and humanities in an academic and professional environment at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used for Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University.
3. Level of autonomy and responsibility

PLO 15: Equip yourself with knowledge in related and interdisciplinary fields, as well as foreign languages, and flexibly apply knowledge of Sino-Vietnamese studies to career changes, academic transitions, and further studies in related specialties to obtain corresponding degrees, meeting the broader job requirements of society in fields such as: cultural management and protection, museum and archive conservation, media, journalism, translation, organizing cultural and tourism events related to traditional culture, and teaching literature and history at all levels…
4. Job positions that students can take on after graduation.
Graduates with a university degree in Sino-Vietnamese studies can undertake work such as collecting, preserving, translating, researching, exploiting, teaching, and consulting on Sino-Vietnamese studies, and more broadly on traditional culture and classical studies, at research institutes; universities and colleges; cultural, archival, and information agencies; diplomatic, security, and defense agencies; international organizations requiring expertise in traditional culture; government agencies; and social organizations and associations with needs.
5. Opportunities for further learning and professional development after graduation.
After graduating from university, depending on their abilities and needs, students can continue their studies at higher levels (Master's degree in Sino-Vietnamese Studies and Doctorate in Sino-Vietnamese Studies) or in suitable fields at training institutions within and outside Hanoi National University.
