2. Objectives of the training program

2.1. General Objectives

The undergraduate Public Relations program trains human resources with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the field of public relations, meeting the requirements of employers in agencies, organizations, businesses, schools, etc., thereby contributing to the modernization of the country.

2.2. Specific Objectives

- Possess a foundational knowledge of social sciences and humanities, politics, and law to understand and effectively apply specialized knowledge in public relations and communication in researching, planning, and implementing communication programs and campaigns for agencies, organizations, and businesses;

- Possesses skills in research, planning, and implementing professional activities; skills in operating technical equipment and technology; and skills in using specialized software in communication. Has the necessary foreign language knowledge and skills for the profession.

- Capable of working independently and effectively in a team, with the ability to perform professional, managerial, and entrepreneurial tasks in the field of public relations.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM

1. Regarding knowledge

PLO 01. Able to apply knowledge of political theory, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic and real-life issues in the contemporary context;

PLO 02. Able to apply fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and solve professional and life problems in the context of the digital age;

PLO 03. Able to apply fundamental knowledge of management, communication, scientific research methods, principles, models, and processes in the field of social sciences and humanities;

PLO 04. Planning, implementing, and evaluating the success and limitations of domestic and international public relations programs and campaigns, event organization, brand building and development, press relations, etc., based on theoretical foundations and scientific methods for agencies, organizations, and businesses.

2. Regarding skills

PLO 05. Combining skills in using video recording, photography, audio recording equipment, information processing software, and computer applications to support media operations;

PLO 06. Develop skills in collecting, evaluating, analyzing, and synthesizing information from primary or secondary data to support input and output assessment research, as well as implementing communication programs and campaigns, organizing events, etc., based on theoretical foundations and scientific research methods;

PLO 07. Designing, creating messages, editing and organizing the production of multimedia communication products for publication on mass media channels or internal channels of agencies, organizations, and businesses; soliciting and managing sponsorship sources for events;

PLO 08. Combining analytical, critical, and creative thinking skills; communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills to convey issues and solutions to the audience in a work environment;

PLO09. Skills in scientifically planning work, working under time pressure and deadlines, leading and supervising the work of others in a work team, building organizational culture in the workplace, developing an entrepreneurial mindset to create jobs for oneself and others;

PLO 10. Proficiency in academic English in the social sciences and humanities in academic and professional environments at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University.

3. Level of autonomy and responsibility

PLO 11. Develop critical thinking, self-learning, self-research skills, the ability to work independently or in teams in a changing work environment, and assume leadership roles when necessary;

PLO 12. Instruct and supervise others in performing specific tasks within their assigned area of ​​expertise;

4. Job positions that students can take on after graduation.

Group 1- Public Relations Specialist: Possesses the necessary skills to work in state and private agencies and enterprises, economic and international organizations, and social and non-governmental organizations; capable of handling tasks such as managing press relations, community relations, event organization, and internal communications; future career prospects include becoming a department head, division director, project director, and business director.

Group 2- Public Relations Management and Consulting Officers: Capable of working in corporate communications management consulting firms and organizations, relevant Ministries and Departments, and Agencies; capable of undertaking management or specialized tasks in: analyzing and reporting on the internal and external communication environment of the unit; developing and implementing communication strategies in business, developing human resources, building and developing the brand and reputation of the enterprise; future prospects include becoming senior analysts, consultants, managers, and leaders in agencies, businesses, and organizations;

Group 3- Public Relations Researchers and Lecturers: Capable of conducting research and teaching in higher education institutions and research facilities; can undertake tasks such as: participating in research on issues related to communication and public relations, acting as a teaching assistant, or lecturing on subjects such as: Introduction to Public Relations, Public Relations Practice, Public Relations Strategy and Tactics, Public Relations Campaigns, etc.; future prospects include becoming senior researchers, lecturers, or managers in the field of training and research in communication and public relations.

5. Opportunities for further learning and professional development after graduation.

Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations can pursue postgraduate studies in Public Relations, Journalism, Media Management, and other related or suitable fields within the system of majors currently permitted for training by the Ministry of Education and Training.
