Throughout its operation, the Institute of Policy and Management has always aimed to become a key national research and training center on policy and management; to integrate, develop, and achieve international standards, contributing to the development of policy and management science in Vietnam.
Research field
- Since 2010 alone, the Institute has completed 5 national-level projects, 3 ministerial-level projects, 10 institutional-level projects, and nearly 15 international projects in key areas such as science and technology policy and innovation, regional development policy, social mobility management policy for science and technology personnel, and the application of ecological technology in agricultural production…
- Published over 15 monographs, reference books, and provided reports and specialized documents on science and policy, identifying paradoxes in science and education policy, evaluating regional development policies, national innovation systems, and policies for managing social mobility of science and technology human resources in the context of integration… and collaborated with international organizations in publishing. Among these, 2 monographs focused on…Analytical and policy planning skills(2011) andPolicy evaluation skills(2017) was published at the request of the National Assembly Office and agencies under the National Assembly, to provide to National Assembly deputies.
- A strong research group on Policy and Management Research was formed and actively worked, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (2015).
Fieldtrain
- The Institute has successfully organized more than 40 training courses on "Policy Planning and Analysis Skills at the Local Level" and annual training courses on "Policy Analysis, Planning, and Evaluation Skills for Officials of the National Assembly Office and grassroots-level policymakers"; and advanced leadership and management training courses for leaders and specialists of local authorities (Ly Son Island District, Gia Lam District, etc.) and business leaders (in cooperation with VCCI).
- In collaboration with experts from the Rosa Luxemburg Institute, we organized three training courses (TOT) for lecturers on "Teaching skills on policy for grassroots policymakers".
- Collaborating with domestic and international partners to offer short-term courses, training programs, and experience sharing on management, policy research, policy planning, and policy decision-making.
- We are collaborating with the Faculty of Management Sciences to implement Bachelor's and Master's programs in Public Policy.

The Institute is promoting collaboration and cooperation with domestic and international organizations.
- Typical domestic partners include: the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, and Children of the National Assembly, the Institute of Legislative Research (under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly), and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
- Our foreign partners include the Rosa Luxemburg Institute (Germany), Lund University (Sweden), Potsdam University, Greifwald University, University of Munich (Germany), Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), etc.
