1.Articles submitted to the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities must not have been previously published in other books, newspapers, or journals. Submitted articles must be typed on A4 paper, using Unicode font (Times New Roman), size 13, and 1.2cm line spacing. Each submission must include one electronic copy, with a minimum of 6,000 words and a maximum of 15,000 words for research papers, or no more than 1,500 words for book reviews/scientific information articles, and one abstract (in Vietnamese and English) of no more than 250 words, including keywords (maximum 5 keywords) placed immediately after the title. In the article, proper names of people, places, and foreign terms should be used in their original form, except for those that have been Vietnamese-ized (such as China, Thailand, etc.). Footnotes should be placed at the bottom of the page and numbered sequentially, starting with 1.
2.When quoting ideas, data, or authors in an article, the source must be clearly stated. For direct quotations, the quotation should be enclosed in quotation marks, followed by a parenthetical note quoting the source. The citation process is as follows:
- If the author has a Vietnamese name or a name that has been transliterated into Vietnamese: (Author's full name, year of publication: page number); for example: (Nguyen Van Chinh 2001: 68).
- If the author has a foreign name (not from the Latin language family, transliterate it into English): (Author's last name, year of publication: page number); for example: (Durkheim 2000: 23).
- Citing sources from works by two or more authors: If the first author has a Vietnamese name: (First author's full name and co-author's name, year of publication: page number); for example: (Ly Lan et al. 1999: 5). If the first author has a foreign name (not from the Latin language family, transliterate it into English): (First author's full name and co-author's name, year of publication: page number); for example: (Dobbin et al. 2009: 30).
- If quoting the same idea from multiple different works, list each work in parentheses, separated by a semicolon; for example: (Dobbin et al. 2006: 10; Ly Lan 1999: 12).
- If the author's name is already mentioned in the main part of the sentence, simply add the year and page number of the quoted idea in parentheses; for example: This result is consistent with the research results of Ly Lan (2004: 11).
- If an author has multiple publications in the same year, the citation should add the letters a, b, c, ..., immediately after the publication year for easier differentiation. For example: (Ly Lan 2010a: 7, 2010b: 15). The documents listed in the References section at the end of the article must also have the corresponding letters added.
- In the examples above, if it is a quotation of the main idea of the entire work, there is no need to include the page number, for example: (Ly Lan 1999).
3.If there are citations in the article, a References section must be included at the end. The References section should not include any sources other than those cited in the article. The references should be presented as follows:
- If it's a book, for example:
Trinh Duy Luan. 2005. Urban Sociology. Hanoi: Social Sciences Publishing House.
Cumming Elaine, William Earl Henry. 1961. Growing Old: The Process of Disengagement. New York: Basic Books.
- If it's a chapter or an article within a book, for example:
Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen. 2009. "Urban landfill planning viewed from the perspective of environmental conflict." Pages 137-175 in the book *Social Studies on the Environment*, edited by Vu Cao Dam. Hanoi: Science and Technology Publishing House.
Gambetta Diego. 1988. "Mafia: The Price of Distrust." pp. 158-175 in Trust: Making and Breaking Cooperative Relations, edited by D. Gambetta. Oxford: Blackwell.
- If it's a journal article, for example:
Le Ngoc Hung. 2008. "Social capital, human capital and social networks through some studies in Vietnam". Journal of Human Studies 37:45-54
Bryant John. 2002. "Patrilines, Patriocality and Fertility Decline in Vietnam." Asia-Pacific Population Journal 17: 111-128.
- If it's a paper submitted to a conference, for example:
Do Thien Kinh. 2011. "The System of Social Stratification in Vietnam Today". Presentation at the Scientific Conference announcing the results of the Institute of Sociology's Scientific Research Program (2009-2010), Institute of Sociology, Hanoi.
Fukuyama Francis. 1999. "Social Capital and Civic Society." Presented at the IMF Conference on Second Generation Reforms, International Monetary Fund, Washington, DC.
- If it's an internet post, for example:
National Assembly. 2009. "Law on the Elderly." Government Electronic Information Portal of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (http://vanban.chinhphu.vn/portal/page/portal/chinhphu/..). Accessed June 2015.
4.The order of references in the References section at the end of the article is as follows: References are not numbered sequentially; the first line begins immediately, and if more than one line is needed, the second line is indented as in the examples above. References are arranged alphabetically by author's last name or organization name as in the examples above. If an author has multiple works cited at different times, the References section should be arranged chronologically: publications published earlier should be listed first.
5.At the end of the article, please clearly state the author's full name, academic title, degree, name and address of the institution, phone number, and email address for the editorial office to contact. For articles that are not used, the editorial office will not return the manuscript.
