Speaking at the awards ceremony, Comrade Trinh Van Quyet - Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department - affirmed: The National Book Award is increasingly asserting its position as a prestigious State award in the publishing field; it has practical significance in honoring works of value in ideology, scholarship, culture, science, and art; and it motivates and encourages authors, translators, researchers, publishers, and those involved in the book industry to continue their creative work and contributions to the development of the country.
Through its various editions, the Award has become a significant milestone in the cultural and spiritual life of society. The works honored today are not only the fruits of serious, persistent, and responsible intellectual labor, but also reflect the vitality of academia, cultural life, the aspiration to contribute, and the spirit of serving the nation.
At the ceremony, the organizing committee honored 2 works with the A Prize, 17 with the B Prize, 23 with the C Prize, 5 with the Encouragement Prize, and 5 with the Reader's Favorite Book Prize.

Professor Nguyen Thien Giap's "Dictionary of Linguistics" is 849 pages long, containing nearly 2,800 Vietnamese entries with corresponding English terms and an alphabetical index of English terms; published in July 2024. Presented in the form of a conceptual dictionary, the work provides an overview of various fields of linguistics, not limited to specific theories. The author consulted 72 Vietnamese bibliographies, 295 English books, 27 French documents, 17 Russian works, 27 German documents, and one Chinese encyclopedia during the writing of this book.
This book is a valuable academic work and also an important publication in the University's Social Sciences and Humanities Series. The "Social Sciences and Humanities Series" has been implemented by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities since 2025, with the aim of creating a rigorous academic space to gather, select, and publish valuable scientific works by scholars, experts, scientists, and veteran educators of the University.
This is a deeply meaningful academic project aimed at honoring knowledge, disseminating valuable research works, and contributing to affirming the role of social sciences and humanities in contemporary academic and social life. It effectively serves training and research in universities and research institutes, as well as in the intellectual life of society, while simultaneously affirming the University's position as a leading academic center in this field in the country. Currently, the series has completed nearly 100 manuscripts and published more than 10 volumes.

The work "Dictionary of Linguistics" by Professor Dr. Nguyen Thien Giap
Linguist Nguyen Thiep Giap was born in 1944 in Ha Tay (now Hanoi). In 1983, he earned his PhD in Linguistics from Hanoi University. He was appointed Professor in 1996 and awarded the title of People's Teacher in 2008.
Professor Nguyen Thiep Giap previously held the position of Head of the Department of Vietnamese Linguistics (Faculty of Linguistics) (1996-2014) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Publishing House (2000-2003).
His main research areas include: Linguistic theory and methodology; Vietnamese lexicology; Vietnamese semantics; Vietnamese pragmatics; and applied Vietnamese linguistics.
Previously, Professor Dr. Nguyen Thien Giap was honored to receive the 2020 National Book Award for his work "Trends and Schools of Modern Linguistics" and the State Award for Science and Technology (2010) for his work on Vietnamese vocabulary and lexical studies.
