From November 7-9, 2024, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the final round and the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the Science and Technology Award for students in higher education institutions in 2024 took place. This is an annual activity organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Innovation - VIFOTEC) and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, to honor outstanding achievements and encourage students to participate in scientific research, contributing to improving the quality of training and fostering young scientific talents in higher education institutions.

In 2024, a total of 536 topics from students from 95 universities nationwide participated in the award ceremony, of which 106 topics were selected for the final round. The topics participating in the award were divided into 6 fields: Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences; Social Sciences, Humanities.

This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU has 02 student research projects that made it to the final round, including the project "The relationship between gender discrimination, sexual double standards and sexual autonomy in Vietnamese youth" (by the student group Do Ha Trang, Nguyen Mai Cam Nhung, Dang Thi Anh, Le Khanh Linh - Psychology K65) in the field of Social Sciences, and "Experimental description of the tone system of some dialects in Ba Vi, Hanoi" (by student Tran Quang Minh - Linguistics K66) in the field of Human Sciences.

In the final round, student groups presented their research results to the panel of judges, displayed posters of their work, and participated in exchange and experiential activities organized by the host unit.

In the end, both projects won the Second Prize, received a certificate from the Ministry of Education and Training and a Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. This encouraging achievement not only reflects the knowledge, skills and passion for scientific research of the students themselves, but also the result of the teaching, research and encouragement of student scientific research activities that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always focused on and invested in.
