University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

This was the theme of the International Scientific Conference held on October 28, 2024, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH). Organized by the Faculty of Philosophy, VNU-USSH, the conference attracted the attention and participation of numerous scientists from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, other universities in Vietnam, and many international scholars (from China, Thailand, France, and Taiwan (China)), with nearly 70 scientific papers submitted.

This was the content that was unanimously agreed upon at the working session between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) and the University of Education, Da Nang University (UED) this morning, December 10, 2024.

To commemorate the Government's issuance of the Decree on Vietnam National University, Hanoi (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2024), the Vietnam National University, Hanoi's Electronic Information Portal respectfully presents an article by Professor Vu Minh Giang, Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and former Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, on the major and important orientations of the Party for the development of Vietnam National University, Hanoi in the new period. As a history professor, he has offered opinions on fundamental and comprehensive reform of Vietnamese higher education with clear, specific viewpoints linked to practice and the development trends of the times.

This was the main topic discussed and agreed upon by scientists at the National Scientific Conference: "Basic Science and National Responsibility," jointly organized by the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities on December 9, 2024, in Hanoi. This is an annual scientific forum of a network comprising six higher education institutions nationwide that conduct training and research in the field of basic science.

"The Role and Mission of National Universities in the Era of National Advancement" was the theme of the 2024 Annual Conference jointly organized by Vietnam National University Hanoi and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City on December 7, 2024.

This morning, November 29, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), in collaboration with the Propaganda Department of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee and the Lao Cai Provincial Political School, organized the national scientific conference "Promoting the Values ​​and Resources of Social and Humanities to Serve the Development of Lao Cai Province into a Growth Pole and Regional Connectivity Center by 2030, with a Vision to 2050".

On November 27, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) held a workshop to announce the National Report “Policy Implementation in Vietnam”. This is the 7th publication released within the framework of the collaborative project between Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam, Justus-Liebig Gießen University (Germany), and VNU-USSH.

On November 9, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), in collaboration with the Vietnam Philosophy Association and Halotimes Group, organized the 2024 Vietnam Philosophy Olympiad, sponsored by Soctrip. The competition was supported by the Academy of Journalism and Communication, Hanoi University of Education, Hue University of Science, and the Vietnam Youth Academy.

On the morning of November 4th, Professor Gary Mariano (former Head of the Communication Department, De La Salle University, Philippines) gave a presentation on the topic "Policies for Managing and Utilizing AI in Newsrooms in the Philippines and Suggestions for Vietnam" at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The seminar was also attended by many experts, journalists, and media managers in Vietnam, along with numerous lecturers, students, and doctoral candidates from the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training.

On October 18, 2024, the International Conference on Knowledge Management: Leadership and Innovation (ICKM2024) was held in Ho Chi Minh City. The conference was jointly organized by the Faculty of Information and Library Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USS), the Faculty of Library and Information Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Southern University Library Association. The ICKM2024 conference was part of a collaborative effort to enhance scientific research activities between the two universities.

(National Assembly) The quality of doctoral training, law education, and student admissions are issues of particular concern to voters, the public, and the education sector. On the afternoon of September 29th, the National Assembly's Culture and Education Committee, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training, organized a seminar entitled "Solutions to improve the quality of doctoral training, law education, and student admissions." The seminar was chaired by the Committee's Chairman, Nguyen Dac Vinh.

In 2024, higher education underwent significant transformations, requiring universities to innovate their perspectives on interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary development, innovation, and vocational training for students.

This was the main point emphasized by scientists at the Workshop on Developing Regulations for Compiling the Nam Dinh Gazetteer, held on the morning of January 12, 2024, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH).

Pham Quang Long began his writing career with plays and gradually became more prolific, prolific, and captivating in novels. After a few works with thematic titles such as "Lost in the Human World" and "The Chess Game," the appearance of "Village Stories" and "The Season of the River Crab" opened up spaces rich in novelistic qualities: from the ability to grasp the reality of life to the exploration of individual fate/human destiny, from the creation of natural landscapes to the exploitation of cultural sediments, from the blending of aesthetic colors to the intertwining of tones and language, from customs and traditions to the changing times… All are quite harmoniously brought together, creating Pham Quang Long's distinctive style in the contemporary genre of novels about rural life.

On October 4, 2023, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, VNU-USSH) met and exchanged ideas with nearly 40 visiting professors and researchers working at the University on the occasion of the opening of the new academic year.

On the afternoon of September 18, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) organized a seminar to announce the National Report on Vietnam on the theme "Labor Market in Vietnam" (No. 6/2023), in collaboration with the Hanns Seidel Foundation (Federal Republic of Germany).

On August 13, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU – USSH), in collaboration with the Executive Board of the Buddhist Association of Tien Du District, successfully organized the national scientific conference "Architecture and Culture of Bach Mon Pagoda in the Historical Flow of Buddhism in Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac".
