The highlight of the conference was the discussion session with the participation of five member schools, focusing on exchanging models and solutions to enhance the role of trade unions in improving the professional capacity of staff, lecturers, and employees.
The Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities presented a paper on the topic "The role of trade unions in accompanying the administration in enhancing the capacity of trade union members – viewed from the model of departmental trade unions," which attracted the attention of the delegates.
Based on the practical experience of the school, the presentation affirmed that the trade union not only performs the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members, but also acts as a partner with the administration in promoting professional development, scientific research, curriculum innovation, digital transformation, and expanding international cooperation.
Many effective operational models have been introduced, such as supporting faculty members in enhancing their capacity for international publications; organizing training programs in digital skills and artificial intelligence applications; expanding cooperation with international partners; and maintaining cultural, charitable, and community service activities to build a humane and cohesive working environment. The effectiveness of these models shows that the trade union is playing an increasingly important role, leveraging its position and strength in accompanying and improving the quality of the workforce.
Spreading new perspectives on the role of trade unions.
At the conference, the discussion was lively, with many opinions contributed by the leaders of the schools and the Chairpersons of the Trade Unions in the G5 Cluster.
The delegates highly appreciated the quality of the presentations and affirmed that trade unions need to continue to innovate their methods of operation, promote their role in connecting the government and workers, proactively participate in building a modern and humane working environment, and create motivation for career development for the workforce.
In response to the challenges and demands for innovation in higher education, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasized at the conference that the trade union has effectively coordinated closely with the administration to create a safe, stable, and motivating working environment. Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son stated that when faculty and staff are cared for in terms of mental and physical health, as well as career development opportunities, they will feel secure in their work, thereby improving the quality of training, scientific research, and service to society.
Many opinions at the conference suggested strengthening connections among trade unions in the G5 Cluster to share experiences, coordinate the implementation of digital capacity building programs, support scientific research, develop professional skills, and build a happy university environment that adapts to the context of digital transformation and international integration.
Continuing the spirit of cooperation of the G5 Cluster.
Before the conclusion of the Conference, the Trade Union of the National Economics University solemnly handed over the flag for hosting the 39th Annual Conference of the G5 Cluster to the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
