Speaking at the reception, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his deep gratitude for the attention and favor shown by the Chinese Embassy and the Counselor personally to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that the University currently has bilateral cooperation relationships with approximately 300 universities and educational organizations worldwide, with universities in China always being strategic partners, engaging in frequent and highly effective exchanges. Over the years, through the connections and support of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, many students and lecturers of the University have received numerous scholarships for exchange programs, studies, and professional development. In addition, every year (before the Covid-19 pandemic), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities also welcomed hundreds of Chinese students, trainees, and researchers to study and conduct scientific research. Principal Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his hope that in the future, the Embassy would support the school in accessing and referencing Chinese resources on education policies, strategies for training high-quality human resources, the application of science and technology, and digital transformation in education.
Representatives from departments and faculties attending the meeting also proposed specific areas of cooperation: the Embassy's support in collecting, translating, and publishing Chinese language documents and textbooks for the University to use as teaching materials; connecting and introducing researchers, experts, and lecturers of the University to publish articles and research papers in prestigious Chinese journals; awarding scholarships to students, young people, and young researchers of the University; sponsoring student competitions, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Education Counselor Trinh Dai Vi shared that this was his first time in office in Vietnam, and immediately after arriving in Hanoi, he chose to visit the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and was eager to hear the university's opinions and exchange ideas to promote educational cooperation between the University and universities in China. Mr. Trinh Dai Vi stated that international cooperation in education is a key focus of the Chinese government. Therefore, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam is always ready to connect Vietnamese universities with leading universities and educational organizations in China to facilitate cooperation, student and faculty exchanges, and academic exchanges. The Counselor expressed his hope to establish a club or organization for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities who have studied or are currently studying in China, as well as Chinese students studying at the University, to foster interaction and connection. Regarding the proposal from Rector Hoang Anh Tuan and representatives from various departments, Education Counselor Trinh Dai Vi happily accepted and will work with his colleagues to gather documents and send them back to the University for reference as soon as possible; and to connect the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with the network of leading universities in China that offer training in the fields of social sciences and humanities.
Cultural Counselor Trinh Dai Vi (Chinese Embassy in Vietnam) and Rector Hoang Anh Tuan had a very open and cordial exchange about the wide-ranging opportunities for cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and universities and educational organizations in China.
At the end of the meeting, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan reiterated the points discussed and agreed upon, as well as some activities that need to be implemented immediately at the beginning of 2023. He expressed his hope that the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Trinh Dai Vi, Cultural Counselor, and First Secretary Vuong Dinh Quan would provide further support and attention to the school. Both sides exchanged commemorative gifts and took commemorative photos.
