With a tradition of nearly half a century, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language currently has more than 30 former teachers who are past their prime, including more than 10 teachers over eighty years old. Whether they are still strong and healthy or have lost their eyesight and are slow-witted, all the teachers came early, beaming with joy, chatting enthusiastically when they met each other again, meeting current lecturers to listen to life stories and to give advice on the training of the new generation of students. The hearts of all the teachers are expressed in the song."Remember the tree planter"composed and performed passionately by former teacher Pham Tuan Khoa.
On behalf of the Faculty, the Dean, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thien Nam, shared with the former teachers, lecturers and students of the Faculty about the achievements that the Faculty has just achieved in the past year. The Faculty currently has nearly 250 full-time Vietnamese students and hundreds of international students from many different programs, is one of the educational addresses with great appeal, and at the same time contributes to creating a significant source of income for the school, improving the lives of staff. Last summer, the Faculty organized for all staff to visit Cambodia, a country with many memories for the Faculty of Vietnamese Language when they did international duty right after the Pol Pot genocide was overthrown. The most vivid images of the past journey were collected by a friend of the Faculty in a very lively short clip, led by the traditional music of the land of pagodas and the vastness of the palm trees, making many teachers feel nostalgic and spontaneously go on stage to dance the roam vong dance, bringing overwhelming emotions to the ceremony.
The CNK Board presented flowers and gifts to congratulate teachers on their 75th birthday.
Veteran teachers such as Mr. Hoang Trong Phien, Mr. Dinh Van Duc, Mr. Phan Hai, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tan... have shared many thoughts and messages for the next generation. When receiving a bouquet of flowers from the new students of the 60th Class, Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Hoang Trong Phien, the first head of the Faculty, was moved to say that he was a former student of the 1st Class of the school; sixty years have passed, and now he is still witnessing the young generation growing up day by day, which is a great happiness. Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Dinh Van Duc, currently the President of the Association of Former Teachers of Hanoi National University, was a student of Mr. Hoang Trong Phien, and also humorously shared that he was a student of the 6th Class, so he was even happier to meet the students of the 60th Class. Mr. Dinh Van Duc, who was also the head of the Faculty, promised to row the boat step by step forward with the current teachers, even though he knew there were still many obstacles and could not be hasty. However, having gone through many difficulties to get to the position it has today, the former teachers all believe that the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language will always be strong.

Responding to the advice and encouragement of the former teachers, the next generation of teachers and all the students of the Faculty expressed sincere feelings. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nga confided that looking at the images of the veteran teachers today, she was both moved and happy. The sadness at the thought of leaving the school she had been attached to for many years was filled by the belief that each retired teacher can still contribute to a certain extent and in a specific way for the new generations of students.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Trong Phien (Former CNK, former student of course 1) took a souvenir photo with students of course 60.
For a teacher, there is no greater happiness than leaving his mark on the path of his students, his juniors, and his training institution; so that one day, those marks will be honored and remembered by his juniors. The Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language always recognizes such teachers, in its efforts to build its own tradition. A tradition of gratitude to those of both yesterday and today who have always worked hard to continuously create value for life.
