Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh (Principal of the School) is summarizing the School's golden achievement plaques to reporters.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh, Principal of the School, summarized the important milestones in history and the golden pages of achievements that the School has achieved over the years.

With the motto "Maintaining and constantly improving the quality of training is the requirement, honor and responsibility of the collective of teachers and scientists of the School", University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU always determines the task of training high-quality, highly qualified human resources. Currently, the University has 24 undergraduate training majors, 06 high-quality training programs, and 129 dual degree training programs.

Postgraduate training has developed strongly in both scale and quality, especially the scale of doctoral training and foreign students. Each year, the School trains about 150 PhD students, including about 20 foreign students. The proportion of postgraduate training scale to the total scale of regular training is about 37%.

The School's scientific research has made remarkable progress in both breadth and depth. The highlight of this activity is the effective participation in key state-level scientific programs. The number of state-level topics and protocols in the period 2009 - 2015 is 22, not including 8 topics under the project to compile the Vietnamese History, 01 topic on Government History and 02 topics under the Northwest Science and Technology Program which are completing the explanation and signing the research contract in 2015.

The School's international cooperation activities have also achieved remarkable results. International cooperation programs not only support training and scientific research activities but also contribute to enhancing the position of the School. The School has attracted and diversified external resources for development. It is worth noting that this activity has not only developed in scale but also really promoted its effectiveness and depth. Up to now, the School has signed 200 cooperation agreements with universities and international organizations, including many famous universities such as:Princeton University,San Jose State University,University of Utah(USA),University of Tokyo(Japan),Moscow State University(Russian Federation),Nanyang University(Singapore)...

Identifying high-quality, highly qualified human resources as the key factor and strategy determining the development of a university, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has issued a programPromote training and development of staff towards international standardsCurrently, the School has 351/370 lecturers with postgraduate degrees (94.9%), including 199 PhDs (53.8%), has 6 professors and 91 associate professors (accounting for 26.2% of total lecturers); there are 100 lecturers doing PhD and 11 are HVCH. In addition to the number of permanent staff, the School has attracted a team of part-time lecturers of 131 people, including 11 professors, 54 associate professors, 46 doctors and a number of foreign lecturers.

Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh, Principal of the School answered:As the country develops, the demand for social sciences and humanities will increase. In the coming period, the cause of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country will require the use of more staff in the field of social sciences and humanities. To meet that demand, the School has proposed many policies in its development strategy, linking high-quality training with the requirements of society. Specifically:

1. Innovate the admission method to attract highly capable students with a completely new admission form - the ability assessment test.
2. The school has a policy of not expanding the scale of university training. It focuses on quality training, not quantity. This is an important factor in caring for and nurturing students during their studies.
3. Innovate training methods in depth, from year-based training to credit-based training; innovate training methods, innovate assessment methods to enhance learners' initiative and positivity.
4. The school focuses on postgraduate training. It creates conditions for students to study at higher levels, and at the same time attracts students from other universities in the country and abroad to train high-quality human resources.
5. The school has 6 high quality training programs. This place has trained many generations of excellent students of the school.
6. The school has many scholarships to support students. According to statistics, each year the school has about 6 billion VND in scholarships for students.
7. The youth union movement is very active. At school, students can express themselves, interact, and contribute to society and the country.

Prof. Dr. People's Teacher Nguyen Van Khanh, Principal of the School answered: To solve the employment problem, the first thing to mention is the personal awareness of students. Students themselves must try to express themselves during the learning process to find jobs that are suitable for their work.

However, to exploit the advantages of extensive cooperation with external partners, the school has also had many solutions to support students such as: Through relationships, the school has also connected the school with businesses and labor-using establishments. Every year, the school also organizes a job fair to introduce training majors to students, and students have the opportunity to access job addresses that are businesses. In addition, the school's cooperation activities also bring many sources of funding to support students, such as scholarships from Toshiba, Chungsoo, AEON... scholarships for studying and researching at higher levels or studying abroad.
