My first impression of Do Thi Kim Anh was her friendliness and likeability. Kim Anh shared: “A score of 25.25 exceeded my expectations. I am very happy that I was able to achieve my goal of getting into university, bringing joy to my family and teachers. I was very surprised and had to check the results many times on the computer to believe it was true.”When asked about the secret to studying well, Kim Anh said that it's important to be proactive and assertive in studying, and to confidently discuss anything you don't understand with friends and teachers. Through this, you will understand the lessons better and remember the knowledge for longer.
After completing her class assignments, Kim Anh often works on additional practice exams and extra exercises to reinforce her knowledge and actively discusses her studies with her friends. Not only is she a good student, but Kim Anh is also a dutiful daughter, helping her parents with farm work, caring for livestock and poultry, and doing other jobs to earn extra income for the family.
It is known that Kim Anh applied to three universities: for Group A, she applied to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Commerce; for Group B, she applied to the University of Agriculture. However, in the end, Kim Anh only applied to one university, placing all her hopes on the Tourism Studies major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - the major she loves most.
Speaking about her reasons for applying to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, she mentioned that a large part of it was influenced by her older sister, a fourth-year student in the Information and Library Science Department there. Her sister often spoke proudly about her university, praising its wonderful teachers, excellent training process, and dynamic learning environment. A top student who frequently receives scholarships, Kim Anh's sister is also a shining example of academic excellence, inspiring her to strive for excellence in both her studies and life. Importantly, since childhood, Kim Anh has been passionate about becoming a tour guide, dreaming of exploring different cultures around the world.
“I’ve had good academic performance throughout my 12 years of schooling, but because I’m shy, I didn’t dare participate in the student excellence competitions at all levels. Knowing that Tourism Studies is a dynamic field of study, and that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has many facilities to help students study and research well, will help me gain more confidence and develop my abilities,” Kim Anh said. Aware that English communication skills are essential for studying Tourism, Kim Anh said she will try to invest in learning English well during her four years of university to make it easier to find a job later. Currently, Kim Anh is taking an English course with the hope of having a strong foundation in the language by the beginning of her first year. She is also tutoring an 8th-grade student in the science stream because “I want to earn extra money, both to improve my knowledge and to help my parents financially.”Kim Anh hopes that studying Tourism Studies will be a significant turning point in your life, helping you to transform yourself and get closer to your passion.
