On October 8, 2024, the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to commend advanced models and honor "Outstanding Capital Citizens" in 2024. Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, former Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council, former Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU, former Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Chairman of the Scientific Training Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was honored as one of the ten Outstanding Capital Citizens.
