43 students with 23 scientific research topics competed for prizes at the 2010 Student Scientific Research Conference of the Faculty of Tourism Studies. As usual, this year's scientific reports were mainly submitted by third-year students (this year, K52). Most reports met the basic criteria set for a student research report. Some reports presented very new and creative research ideas, effectively applying scientific research methods. The topics were graded meticulously, with the average score being the total points from the supervising professor, the Departmental and Faculty-level expert councils, and the presentation score at the conference. As a result, the topic "Research on tourism destination promotion strategies and their application in building tourism promotion strategies in Ninh Binh," supervised by students Bui Duc Dung, Dinh Thi Thu Phuong, and Hoang Thi Thuy (K52), under the guidance of Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, won first prize. Two second prizes were awarded to two student groups: Tran Thi Phuong Lan and Tran Le Xuan (K52) with the topic “From folk processions to modern street festivals: Applications in organizing tourism activities in Vietnam,” supervised by Ms. Trinh Le Anh; and Nguyen Thi Hoai and Nguyen Thi Hoa (K52) with the topic “Developing rural tourism products in Tay Tuu flower village (Hanoi),” supervised by Dr. Tran Thuy Anh. Three other student groups also won three third prizes at the conference. The organizing committee proposed that the university award one first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes at the university level to the winning projects at the faculty level.
