Professor Nguyen Van Khanh received an honorary doctorate degree.

On March 1, 2010, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU - received an honorary doctorate in Science and Technology Innovation Management from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (Thailand).

On March 1, 2010, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU - received an honorary doctorate in Science and Technology Innovation Management from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (Thailand).

He is the only Vietnamese and one of six foreign scholars honored to be recognized as an Honorary Doctor of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University this time. The Crown Prince of Thailand personally presented the degrees and congratulated the scholars.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh said that this event will contribute to further promoting the cooperative relationship between the two universities. After introducing some features of the research and training situation in Thai Studies in Vietnam, on behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Nguyen Van Khanh expressed his desire to cooperate with Thai universities to develop many fields of study that both sides are interested in, such as Vietnamese Studies, Thai Studies, Southeast Asian Studies and Asian Studies. He also supported the idea of ​​​​President Supol Wuthisen on establishing a network of universities in the region to conduct research and exchange students in the field of Southeast Asian Studies.

Along with the representative of Vietnam, 05 other scholars receiving honorary doctorates are Dr. Chae Chamroeun - President of Chamroeun University (Cambodia), Dr. Gao Yubao - President of Tianjin Normal University (China), Ms. Monthida Sitathani - Minister of Science and Technology of Thailand, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Soukkongseng Saignaleuth - President of the National University of Laos, Dr. Jose Sulaiman Chagnon - Director of the World Boxing Council (Mexico). This is an activity to recognize and honor talented individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development and cooperation of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University in particular and Thailand in general.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh is the second Vietnamese person to receive an honorary doctorate from a foreign university. Previously, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, was the first Vietnamese person to receive an honorary doctorate from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University in August 2008.

Also during this visit to Thailand, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh and delegates from many countries participated in contributing ideas at a workshop discussing the issue of cooperation in building and developing Southeast Asian Studies at universities in the region.

It is known that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University officially established relations in 2007 by signing a cooperation agreement in the fields of scientific research, training coordination and scientific information exchange. Every year, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University sends delegations of staff and students to exchange experiences and participate in some short-term courses at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 02 graduate students studying at the university and it is expected that in the near future, 04 more students will continue to be trained here.
