On June 7, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi) and Loei Rajabhat University (Thailand) officially signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of a visit and working trip of a Thai university delegation led by Professor Dr. Sanit Loengbudnark - Rector.The signed framework agreement stipulates the main areas of cooperation between the two sides, including the exchange of students, trainees, and lecturers; the development of joint research projects; the organization of scientific conferences; the exchange of academic information and materials; and the development and promotion of other areas of academic cooperation of mutual interest. The two sides also had initial discussions on developing a research program on the integration of Vietnamese culture within the Thai community through the study of the lives of Vietnamese expatriates in Thailand; and establishing joint training programs in Vietnamese Studies and Thai Studies at the two universities. At the signing ceremony, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities awarded certificates to six students from Loei Rajabhat University who had completed a course on Vietnamese language and culture at the University in May 2010. Loei Rajabhat University, located in Northeast Thailand, has 12,000 students and 700 staff members. The main fields of study include: social sciences and humanities, natural sciences, management sciences, information technology, and agriculture.

To date, Loei Rajabhat University is the 12th university in Thailand to have an official partnership with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Other Thai partners include Chiang Mai University, Silpakorn University, Rajabhat Chiangrat University, Mahasarakham University, Rajabhat Sakin Nakhon University, Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University, Naresuan University, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Rajabhat Pharanakhon University, Bangsomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, and Thammasat University.
