First Master Program in Communication Management in the North kicked off

On November 17th 2015, Faculty of Journalism and Communication and Stirling University (UK) co-held the opening ceremony of the first Master's Program in Communication Management at USSH. This was the first of its kind in North Vietnam.

Persian literature, Saadi and Vietnam-Iran cultural relations

On March 26rd 2015, Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector) and many lecturers and students of Faculty of Oriental Studies participated in a special seminar titled “Persian literature, Saadi and Vietnam-Iran cultural relations”. The seminar is devoted to the birth of great poet Saadi and introduction of the Special Issue on Saadi. Mr Hossein Alvadi Behineh – Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam and Mr. Mahmuh Alijade – Third Secretary of the Iran Ambassador to Vietnam participated in this seminar.

Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Khanh visited and worked in Mexico

From May 14th to 20th, the delegation of University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), VNU led by Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector), had a working visit to Mexico with the aim of establishing cooperative relations in higher education and scientific studies.

Conference on religion and law in Washington DC

From May 11th to 12th, 2015 in Washington DC, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) collaborated with Brigham Young University (BYU) and the Institute of Global Engagement (IGE), the US to organize the Conference titled “Religion and law in America and Vietnam – A comparative study approach”.

Meeting with writer Kim Young Ha

On November 18th, 2014, University of Social Sciences and Humanities met with Korean writer Kim Young Ha who came and shared about his literary works. Also participating in the meeting was writer Bao Ninh, representatives from Faculty of Oriental Studies and many students.

In the year 2013-2014, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) continued its progress in developing a research University, making the training and research quality become more internationally-standardized. This showed that USSH made stable developments in training, research, international cooperation, personnel development and infrastructure improvement, etc.

2013 - 2014: A fruitful year with bright spots

In the academic year of 2013 – 2014, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU) continued to lay solid foundations for training affairs and achieved considerable progress in research and international cooperation, while the quality of its staff was also improved. Apart from accomplishing general goals, the University also scored brilliant results in many fields.

Evaluation on Vietnamese proficiency of foreign students will be more objective and professional

At the end of last May, 2014, USSH (Hanoi National University), for the first time, launched the Standardized System of testing and evaluation on Vietnamese proficiency of foreign students. The testing method was online–based and information technology was utilized. Prof.Dr Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector of USSH) - Director of the project titled “Standardized System of Criteria for Vietnamese proficiency of foreign students and tests to evaluate Vietnamese proficiency of foreign students” - provided more information about this testing model.
