External relations

Apart from the training and research connections with other units within VNU, the Faculty of Anthropology maintains relations with many domestic and foreign training and research units and organizations. Most notable of them are the Ford Foundation and the Wenner-Gren Foundation, whose cooperation helps the Faculty construct and renovate its curricula and improve its lecturers' research and teaching capability.

The Faculty has also held international academic events that connect and gather domestic and foreign experts to discuss many important issues concerning anthropology, the Vietnamese society and regional countries. Some of the prominent events:

  • 2015: Collaborate with the Institute for Culture and Society, University of Western Sydney to hold the international conference "Socio-cultural transformations in urban areas in the progress of globalization and modernization"

  • 2015: Collaborate with the Vietnam Society of Ethnography and Anthropology, Institute of Ethnography, and Nguyen Van Huyen Museum to hold the international conference "Anthropology in Vietnam: History, reality and prospects" sponsored by Wenner-Gren Foundation

  • 2016: Collaborate with UNESCO Vietnam to hold international conference "The cultural forces for sustainable development: Theory, practice and policy solutions" sponsored by Wenner-Gren Foundation.

  • 2017: Hold the international seminar "The influences and marks of Soviet anthropology on Anthropology in Vietnam" sponsored by Wenner-Gren Foundation.
