Expressing appreciation for the efforts of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam in fostering connections and implementing cooperative and exchange activities between universities in Taiwan and VNU-USSH, Prof. Dr. Hoàng Anh Tuấn, Rector of VNU-USSH, expressed his hope for more effective collaborative programs between the two sides in the near future.
Accordingly, both sides will strengthen activities related to training and scientific research to leverage their respective strengths. These include promoting student and faculty exchange programs, organizing international academic conferences on culture, history, and literature, offering scholarships for students and faculty, collaborating on Vietnamese language training in Taiwan, and organizing Mandarin certification examinations in Vietnam.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Hoàng Anh Tuấn, Rector of VNU-USSH, and Mr. Chu Da Minh, Head of the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam.
Both sides expressed a desire to further deepen the effective cooperative relationship between VNU-USSH and universities in Taiwan.
Previously, VNU-USSH had engaged in various cooperative activities with Taiwanese universities. These include signing memoranda of understanding with 16 Taiwanese universities during the Taiwan Higher Education Exhibition held in October 2023 at VNU-USSH, as well as visiting and signing cooperation agreements with universities and research institutes during official trips by VNU-USSH leaders to Taiwan (such as National Taiwan Normal University, National Cheng Kung University, National Taichung University of Science and Technology, National Chengchi University, National Taiwan University (NTU), the Institute of History and Philology under Academia Sinica, and the National Central Library of Taiwan).
In collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, VNU-USSH successfully organized the 2023 Taiwan Higher Education Exhibition, which attracted the participation of 44 leading universities from Taiwan across various fields, including social sciences and humanities, foreign languages, education, culture and arts, natural sciences, engineering and technology, medicine, agriculture and forestry, and economics and management. This was the largest number of participating universities in such an exhibition to date. At the event, Vietnamese students had numerous opportunities to seek valuable study-abroad scholarships and gain insights from the experiences of Taiwanese students.
