11. Summary of new results of the thesis:

- Research purpose: To clearly analyze the current state of US-Saudi Arabia relations from 2001 to 2024 based on the national interest thesis in realism. From there, evaluate the results, provide prospects and impacts and forecast the prospects of US-Saudi Arabia relations in the future and implications for Vietnam in developing relations with the two countries.

- Research subject: US - Saudi Arabia relations

- Research methods: The thesis is approached on the basis of the arguments of realist theories on "national interests" to analyze the relationship between the US and Saudi Arabia. The thesis also applies a systemic approach when Saudi Arabia is a part of the Middle East - North Africa regional system, affected by US policy for the region and vice versa, US policy for the region is a system, in which US policy towards Saudi Arabia is a part of this system. At the same time, the thesis also approaches from a historical perspective, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach. The thesis uses common research methods such as: synthesis, comparison, contrast, deduction, induction, etc. The main research methods of the thesis are historical method; document research method; system - structure method, logical method, international relations research methods such as policy research method; analysis method; forecasting method.

- Main results and new contributions of the thesis:

+ The thesis has clarified the theoretical and practical basis of the formation process of the US - Saudi Arabia relationship; assessed the factors affecting the relationship;

+ Based on national interests, the thesis analyzed and explained the relationship between the US and Saudi Arabia in each period from 2001 to 2024 in specific fields such as politics - foreign affairs, economy; security - military and other fields.

+ The thesis has evaluated the US - Saudi Arabia relationship, the impacts and consequences of the relationship on the two countries in particular, the region and the world in general.

+ Based on lessons learned from the practical US-Saudi Arabia relationship in the period 2001 - 2024, the thesis offers some policy suggestions for Vietnam in its relations with the US and Saudi Arabia, as well as building foreign policy in the future.

From there, this thesisassess the outcomes, limitations, causes, and impacts, and forecast the future prospects of US - Saudi Arabia relationsas well asthe implications for Vietnam in developing relationships with the two countries.
