- This thesis develops a method for assessing the participation of local people in community tourism development through specific participation behaviors.

ButThe thesis developed a research model with four hypotheses related to the relationship between the factors: perception of the positive impacts of tourism, perception of the negative impacts of tourism, experience participating in tourism activities, and community engagement with the participation of local people in community tourism development.

- The thesis identified the current situation and assessed the participation of local people through specific participation behaviors at community-based tourism destinations in western Nghe An province.

- The thesis proposed a suitable model to identify trends in factors influencing local people's participation in community tourism development, based on a case study of Nghe An province.

- The thesis has proposed several recommendations with implications for stakeholders to encourage local people's participation in community-based tourism development in Nghe An.
