- As the first study to investigate methods of translating implied utterances from English to Vietnamese, this thesis has achieved the following:
- Establish a theoretical framework and supplement the theoretical basis for methods of translating implied utterances from English to Vietnamese;
- Identify three methods that translators use to translate implied utterances from English to Vietnamese based on conversational linguistic data in relation to source and target language, contributing to supplementing the theoretical basis of translation;
- Generalize the factors influencing the choice of translation methods for implied utterances from English to Vietnamese.
- Propose a system of translation exercises arranged according to Bloom's taxonomy of cognitive levels to improve translation skills for students majoring in English and translation.
11. Practical applications:
This dissertation serves as a valuable reference for researchers studying translation work and evaluating translated products.
This dissertation adds to the theoretical and practical foundations that contribute to the research and further clarification of implication, translation, and implied translation.
This dissertation contributes to a rich source of materials for research on language and translation, and research on the development and construction of foreign language and translation training programs.
The system of translation exercises can be used to develop and design translation practice exercises in particular, and language skill training exercises for learners in general.

- This is the first in-depth systematic study on strategies for translating utterances with implicature from English into Vietnamese. It has done the followings:
- Setting up the theoretical framework, supplementing the theoretical bases of strategies for translating utterances with implicature from English into Vietnamese.
- Defining 3 strategies that translators use to translate utterances with implicature from English into Vietnamese in the relation with the source and the target language, contributing to complement the theoretical basis of translation in general.
- Finding out the factors affecting the choice of strategies used.
- Proposing a system of exercise types in the order based on Bloom's Cognitive Taxonomy to improve the translation skills for English learners and translator students.
11. Practical applicability:
This thesis is a valuable reference source for researchers in translating and evaluating translations/ translated products.
It complements theoretical as well as practical bases for study and elucidates implicature, translation and translating implicature.
The thesis is an additional scientific document for studying language and translation, designing curriculum for teaching language and translation, developing materials for teaching and training English teachers and translators.
