2. Objectives of the training program
2.1. General Objectives
The undergraduate program aims to train graduates with a general knowledge of social sciences and humanities; a fundamental understanding of linguistics; basic professional skills and necessary supplementary skills for professional activities related to linguistics; the ability to work independently or in teams under changing work conditions; personal and group responsibility in guiding, disseminating, and popularizing knowledge in their field of study; and the ability to supervise others in performing tasks, enabling them to work in research, teaching, management, consulting, and application of linguistics, language and culture, and to continue their studies at the master's level in Linguistics or other related fields.
2.2. Specific Objectives
- To equip learners with fundamental knowledge in social sciences and humanities, political science, and law; foundational knowledge in linguistics, applied linguistics, and the languages and cultures of ethnic groups in Vietnam; to help learners master knowledge in the field and specialization in linguistics in general and the applications of linguistics in some fields such as communication - marketing, editing - publishing, teaching Vietnamese, speech therapy, language and AI, etc. in particular, in order to meet the requirements of professional activities, personal development, work and lifelong learning;
- To help learners develop analytical and critical thinking skills in linguistic issues; acquire soft skills, computer skills, and foreign language skills; and learn how to design, organize, and conduct research, teaching, consulting, and applying linguistics in various aspects of social life and in the current digital age.
- Enhance learners' ability to self-learn and adapt to a changing work environment; improve their professional ethics, sense of community service, civic responsibility, and entrepreneurial spirit, fostering self-employment.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01: Applying basic knowledge of political theory, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic and real-life issues in the contemporary context;
PLO 02: Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and solve professional and life problems in the context of the digital age;
PLO 03: Applying knowledge and research methods from the social sciences and humanities to clarify life's issues from an interdisciplinary perspective;
PLO 04: Applying fundamental knowledge of linguistics, especially Vietnamese linguistics, to understand and address academic and real-life issues in a contemporary context; to manage, advise, operate, and supervise activities related to the fields of linguistics in general, and Vietnamese linguistics in particular, in practice;
PLO 05: Applying fundamental knowledge of applied linguistics to the analysis, interpretation, evaluation, and processing of linguistic phenomena in diverse professional contexts such as communication and marketing, editing and publishing, education, speech therapy, and linguistic technology (AI - NLP).
2. Regarding skills
PLO 06: Proficiency in a foreign language (English or Chinese) in the academic field of social sciences and humanities in a learning and professional environment at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used for Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University;
PLO 07: Proficient in the skills of developing essays or small-scale scientific research in the social sciences and humanities, from identifying research questions, selecting appropriate methods, collecting and processing materials to presenting and defending research results in a coherent and persuasive manner;
PLO 08: Successfully carries out the work of teaching linguistics, Vietnamese language to Vietnamese and foreigners, languages and cultures of ethnic groups in Vietnam; communication work, editing and publishing language publications, and journalistic and media products;
PLO 09: Able to apply analytical, planning, evaluation, consulting, and assessment skills in applying linguistics to solve problems related to the fields of science, technology, communication, education, culture, and health;
PLO 10: Demonstrate the ability to communicate in various forms with diverse audiences in specific socio-cultural contexts; the ability to work independently and in teams under changing work conditions, assume personal and group responsibility, guide and supervise others in performing specific tasks, and express personal opinions on linguistic and Vietnamese linguistic issues that need to be addressed.

The program ensures that Linguistics graduates are capable of working in a wide range of fields both domestically and internationally:
- Conducting research on linguistics and Vietnamese linguistics at language and cultural research institutions and educational establishments both domestically and internationally;
- Teaching linguistics, Vietnamese linguistics, Vietnamese language and culture from secondary school to university level at educational institutions in Vietnam and abroad; teaching Vietnamese language and literature in schools;
- Working as an editor in news agencies, publishing houses, radio stations, and television channels;
- Responsible for tasks related to the management and administration of language, culture, and communication in administrative, cultural, educational agencies and businesses;
- Working in the fields of speech therapy, translation, natural language processing, linguistic testing for chatbots and voicebots, linguistic data analysis - digital communication and marketing, and digital content creation;
- After graduation, students can continue their studies at higher levels in linguistics or other social sciences and humanities fields, either domestically or internationally.
