2. Objectives of the training program
2.1 General Objectives
The undergraduate program in Anthropology aims to train anthropology graduates with professional and ethical qualities, meeting the needs of the community, society, and the country for human resources in the field of anthropology in the context of innovation, development, and international integration. Upon graduation, students will possess strong professional skills; be capable of performing specialized tasks; advise and consult domestic and foreign organizations and agencies on tasks related to anthropology and ethnology, as well as ethnic affairs; and participate in research, teaching, and further education at higher levels.
2.2 Specific Objectives
- To equip students with fundamental and comprehensive knowledge of anthropology to analyze and explain human beings from biological, historical, linguistic, cultural, and social perspectives. To provide students with in-depth knowledge of economic, cultural, political, social, environmental, ethnic, religious, gender, development, and urbanization issues in Vietnam, countries in the region, and around the world. Simultaneously, students will be able to approach and solve human-related problems from an interdisciplinary perspective, in accordance with academic standards, professional ethics, and the context of globalization. Students will also master specialized knowledge in anthropology and research methods in this field to apply to research and practical applications.
- Students develop academic skills, including the use of specialized English and the ability to conduct independent or small-scale group research, from research design to presentation and critique. In addition, students hone their critical thinking skills, information processing, problem-solving, and ability to work in academic and practical environments with intercultural elements. They develop critical thinking abilities, analytical skills, evaluation skills, and scientific communication skills to become professional and modern Anthropology graduates.
- Learners develop a habit of lifelong learning, self-study, and independent research; enhance their sense of responsibility, professional ethics, and civic awareness in approaching and addressing issues related to Anthropology and Ethnology, and issues related to human beings. Simultaneously, learners develop an attitude of respect for diversity and cultural differences, possess the capacity for dialogue and discussion in an intercultural space, contributing to building a harmonious, inclusive, and humane society. Learners are able to creatively apply the knowledge, theoretical approaches, and methodology of Anthropology to solve scientific problems, practical work, and life issues.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01. Applying basic knowledge of political theory, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic issues related to human beings in the contemporary context;
PLO 02. Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and solve professional and practical problems related to culture, ethnicity, beliefs, and religion in the context of the digital age;
PLO 03. Applying knowledge and research methods from social sciences and humanities to analyze human issues from an interdisciplinary approach;
PLO 04. Applying knowledge of Anthropology in learning and research, explaining issues related to human beings in general within a contemporary context;
PLO 05. Able to use anthropological theories and research methods to analyze and explain issues related to human beings in Vietnam and around the world;
PLO 06. Apply specialized knowledge of Anthropology and professional skills to advise on and solve human-related problems to meet the needs of social life.
2. Regarding skills
PLO 07. Proficient in academic use of a foreign language (English or Chinese) in the field of social sciences and humanities at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam), for the purpose of studying, researching, and academic communication in a multilingual environment;
PLO 08. Proficient in the skills of developing essays or small-scale scientific research in the field of Anthropology: from problem identification, research design, data collection and processing to presenting and critiquing results in a coherent and scientifically sound manner;
PLO 09. Apply specialized knowledge and interdisciplinary skills to participate in consulting, analyzing, communicating, training, or supporting policies in fields related to human and national issues.

Group 1: Researchers and lecturers capable of undertaking research and university teaching work on human beings, culture, and human society;
Group 2: Officials working in Party and State government agencies, mass organizations, international and non-governmental organizations, and other socio-political organizations who need to use anthropological knowledge, anthropological approaches and research methods, etc.;
Group 3: Officials practicing development and conservation in museums, tourist areas, nature reserves, libraries, etc.;
Group 4: Anthropology consultants and practitioners capable of undertaking applied work serving the planning and implementation of social policies, such as policy research, impact assessment, needs assessment, ethnographic field research, community development and social development expertise, and managing and operating small- to medium-scale research or application programs/projects related to anthropological knowledge, approaches, and research methods;
Group 5: Creating jobs for oneself and for society.

Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, are eligible to pursue Master's and Doctoral programs in Anthropology and other social sciences and humanities disciplines at higher education institutions both domestically and internationally.
