2. Objectives of the training program
2.1 General Objectives
The Bachelor's program in Information and Library Science aims to train highly qualified human resources to meet the demands of digital transformation in the information and library sector. Students are equipped with a solid foundation of knowledge in modern library science, digital information management, and the application of artificial intelligence in information and library activities. The program focuses on developing digital competencies, technological thinking, information management skills, and knowledge services in a digital environment. Students are trained to design, build, and operate intelligent digital library systems, perform user data analysis and exploration, and optimize user experience using advanced technological tools. Simultaneously, the program emphasizes the development of professional ethics, innovation, entrepreneurship, and teamwork skills, enabling learners to adapt flexibly to the professional environment and meet the diverse needs of society in the digital age.
2.2 Specific Objectives
The Bachelor of Science in Information and Library Science program aims to equip students with:
- To equip learners with foundational and interdisciplinary knowledge, including political theory, philosophy, history, Ho Chi Minh's ideology, law, social sciences and humanities, digital technology, artificial intelligence, along with foreign language skills, creative thinking, design thinking, and an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit; thereby helping them to effectively understand, analyze, and handle academic and life issues in the context of the digital age, while creating a foundation for accessing specialized fields within the industry;
- Applying in-depth knowledge of modern library science, digital information management, scientific research methods, data analysis and mining; combining the ability to apply artificial intelligence and advanced technological tools to design, build, operate and optimize smart library information systems, implement digital library projects, digitize and preserve heritage, develop open knowledge platforms and digital knowledge services, in order to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
- Developing professional and technological skills, including academic English; designing, implementing, and managing digital library systems, databases, and digital information services; collecting, processing, analyzing, visualizing, and exploiting user data; applying artificial intelligence, analytical software, and digital communication platforms; and skills in implementing digitization projects, designing user experiences and digital knowledge services, thereby creating content and solutions to support library information activities;
- Develop organizational and management skills through designing and coordinating research, administration, and communication activities; effectively solve problems, manage projects, communicate, present, negotiate, and work in teams; while fostering an entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and adaptability in a digital, multicultural, and rapidly changing environment, especially in projects and services related to digital libraries, artificial intelligence, digital humanities, and digital knowledge services.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01: Applying basic knowledge of political theory, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic and real-life issues in the contemporary context;
PLO 02: Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and solve professional and life problems in the context of the digital age;
PLO 03: Able to apply fundamental knowledge of management, communication, scientific research methods, principles, models, and processes in the field of social sciences and humanities;
PLO 04: Applying in-depth knowledge of modern library science, digital information management, and artificial intelligence to build and operate effective information and library systems;
PLO 05: Applying theories and techniques of data analysis, information mining, and data visualization to solve practical problems in information and library operations.

PLO 06: Design research, management, communication, and teamwork activities to implement research and professional activities, while applying innovative and entrepreneurial thinking to propose and implement effective solutions in the professional context;
PLO 07: Proficiently perform skills in managing digital library systems and databases, applying digital technology tools and AI to operate and develop smart library services;
PLO 08: Building and developing effective user experience design solutions, digital communication, content marketing, and organizational information brand development;
PLO 09: Demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving, project management, and the effective use of technological and digital tools in research, learning, and professional practice, combining innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities to adapt and create new value in the digital environment;
PLO 10: Proficiency in academic English in the social sciences and humanities in academic and professional environments at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University.
