2. Objectives of the training program
2.1. General Objectives
The Bachelor of Religious Studies program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) trains high-quality human resources with strong moral character, political acumen, and social responsibility. Students are equipped with comprehensive and modern knowledge of beliefs and religions based on fundamental knowledge in social sciences, politics, law, information technology, and management; while also developing skills in religious studies research, critical thinking, foreign languages, digital skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Graduates possess the capacity for autonomy, creativity, respect for diversity and freedom of belief and religion, and the ability to work effectively in research institutions, educational institutions, management organizations, social organizations, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations, contributing to building a harmonious, inclusive, and humane society in the context of global integration.
2.2. Specific Objectives
- The program provides learners with a comprehensive and modern system of knowledge in Religious Studies, including history, thought, beliefs, religious life, and contemporary religious phenomena, linked to fundamental knowledge of social sciences, politics, law, and information technology.
- The program helps students develop skills in religious studies research using social science and humanities methods; develop critical thinking, the ability to analyze religious phenomena in a multicultural context, along with foreign language and digital technology skills to support research and professional practice related to religion.
- The program aims to cultivate in students ethical qualities, social responsibility, and political acumen related to the study and practice of Religious Studies; to foster respect for diversity and freedom of belief and religion, self-reliance, creativity, and academic responsibility; and to prepare students to work effectively in research, teaching, management, and social organizations related to belief, religion, and culture both domestically and internationally.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01. Applying basic knowledge of politics, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology in the social sciences and humanities to explain issues of belief and religion in Vietnam and around the world in a contemporary context;
PLO 02. Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and address professional and practical issues related to beliefs and religions in the context of the digital age;
PLO 03. Applying basic knowledge of theories and research methods in social sciences and humanities to approach and explain religious and belief phenomena in an interdisciplinary way;
PLO 04. Applying comprehensive knowledge of beliefs and religions to analyze issues related to beliefs and religions in the context of globalization;
PLO 05. Applying basic knowledge of religious theory and research methods to identify and explain religious and belief phenomena in the context of globalization;
PLO 06. Applying knowledge of religious affairs and professional skills to advise, propose solutions, and participate in resolving religious and belief issues both domestically and internationally, meeting the needs of social life.
2. Regarding skills
PLO 07. Proficiently use a foreign language (English or Chinese) academically in the field of social sciences and humanities at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam), to analyze religious and belief phenomena both domestically and internationally;
PLO 08. Capable of designing and implementing small-scale, complete religious studies research: topic selection, research design, data collection, analysis, and presentation of results;
PLO 09. Capable of applying critical and creative thinking to analyze and propose solutions to academic and practical problems related to beliefs and religions in a multicultural context.
