2.1. General Objectives
The doctoral program in Cultural Management offers a high level of theoretical and practical training, specializing in cultural studies and cultural management, contributing to the provision of high-quality human resources for the country in the context of integration and globalization..
2.2. Specific Objectives

3. Admission Information
3.1.Directionadmissions: Admission is based on the evaluation of professional profiles in accordance with the regulations of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
3.2. Eligibility Criteria
3.2.1. Requirements regarding diplomas, fields of study, and types of graduation
Applicants must have graduated with a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with a GPA of Excellent or higher in a relevant field/specialization, or have completed a qualification equivalent to level 7 of the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework in certain specialized fields relevant to the doctoral program.
Diplomas issued by foreign educational institutions must undergo recognition procedures in accordance with the current regulations of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
3.2.2. Requirements for research competence and experience
- Possess research experience demonstrated through a master's thesis from a research-oriented training program. This also applies to candidates with an applied master's degree or a master's degree in a relevant field/specialization.ButCandidates must complete supplementary courses or, if applying from a bachelor's degree program, must be the author or co-author of at least one scientific publication. Scientific publications can be articles in specialized scientific journals or scientific reports published in the proceedings of national or international peer-reviewed scientific conferences or seminars, with an ISBN related to the field or research topic, and recognized by the professorship/associate professorship council of the discipline/interdisciplinary field.
- The research proposal should clearly state the proposed research topic, research field; reasons for choosing the research field and topic; a brief overview of the research situation in that field domestically and internationally; research objectives; some key research contents; research methods and expected results; reasons for choosing the training institution; implementation plan during the training period; the candidate's experience, knowledge, understanding, and preparation for undertaking the doctoral dissertation. The proposal may also suggest a research staff member to be the supervisor.
- A letter of recommendation from at least one scientist holding the title of professor, associate professor, or a doctorate in science or a PhD, who has collaborated professionally with the applicant and is knowledgeable in the field the applicant intends to research. The letter of recommendation must include comments and assessments of the applicant regarding:
+ Moral character, abilities and scientific research attitude, and professional qualifications of the applicant;
+ For scientists who meet the criteria for supervising doctoral students and agree to act as thesis supervisors, additional comments on the urgency and feasibility of the research topic and content should be included; and the ability to mobilize doctoral students for research topics and projects, as well as the available funding for the doctoral students' research activities (if any), should be clearly stated.
+ Other comments and levels of support and recommendations for the candidate to pursue doctoral studies.
3.2.3. Foreign language requirements
- Applicants who are Vietnamese citizens must meet the foreign language proficiency requirements.Equivalent to Level 4 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam..Specific requirements for proof of foreign language proficiency are in accordance with the current regulations of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
- Applicants who are foreign citizens and apply to study the Doctoral Program in Cultural Management in Vietnamese must have a minimum Vietnamese language certificate of [level].BLevel 4 and aboveaccording toThe Vietnamese language proficiency framework is for foreigners; or those who have graduated from university (or have an equivalent qualification or higher) where the training program was taught in Vietnamese.

PART II. LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Requirements for the thesis
- The dissertation must be an independent scientific research work that makes a new contribution to solving a scientific, theoretical, or practical problem, contributing to the development and formation of a new theoretical framework and ideology suitable for the field of Cultural Management;
- The dissertation topic must be approved by the specialized subcommittee during the doctoral training admission process, and the head of the training unit must issue a decision assigning the topic and supervisor. The doctoral candidate must present the content and research plan to the specialized unit no later than 3 months after receiving the dissertation topic and report on the research results every 6 months during the dissertation period. The evaluation of the report is a condition for considering the proposal to defend the dissertation;
- The dissertation content must be certified and signed by the doctoral student.
- The thesis structure must include at least the following sections: Introduction; Literature Review; Research Question; Theoretical Basis; Research Methods; Research Results and Analyses/Explanations; Conclusion; List of References cited and used in the thesis as prescribed by the training institution; List of published works related to the doctoral thesis topic, along with written consent from co-authors (if any); Appendix (if any);
- Comply with intellectual property rights regulations as stipulated in the Intellectual Property Law;
- The dissertation must be written in Vietnamese, using Unicode characters, Times New Roman font, size 13, and no more than 300 A4 pages in length, excluding appendices.in thereAt least 50% of the pages must present the research results and arguments of the graduate student.
ButThe dissertation abstract should accurately reflect the structure, layout, and content of the dissertation, and must include the full text of the dissertation's conclusion. The dissertation information sheet should be approximately 3 to 5 pages (300 to 500 words) in both Vietnamese and English, summarizing the basic content, new findings, and the most important research results and contributions of the dissertation.
2. Requirements regardingresearch capacity
- Doctoral candidates who publish the research results of their dissertation in a specialized scientific journal as the main author (first name/corresponding author), and have a total score of 2.0 or higher based on the maximum score stipulated by the State Council of Professors for each type of work (as the main author, (No points will be awarded when there are co-authors). International publications must be written in a foreign language.Articles published in domestic specialized scientific journals belonging to the listThe State Council of Professors stipulates a minimum evaluation score of 0.75 points and must meet one of the following criteria:
+ Have at least one article published in a scientific journal listed in the Web of Science or Scopus database (hereinafter referred to as WoS/Scopus database);
+ Possess at least one granted patent/utility model certificate and at least one international article/report in one of the following publications:(i) a reference book chapter published by a reputable international publisher, or (ii) a monograph published by a reputable international publisher, or (iii)(iii) a report in the proceedings of a peer-reviewed international conference with an ISBN, or (iv) an article published in a peer-reviewed, reputable foreign scientific journal with an ISSN.

3. Knowledge Output Standards
- PLO 1:Analyze the worldview and methodology of Marxist-Leninist philosophy in practical activities and professional research.
- PLO 2: Applying modern and up-to-date knowledge and methods to research and fieldwork; evaluating and quantifying the strengths, weaknesses, progress, limitations, existing problems, and inadequacies of cultural management; and on that basis, creatively solving problems related to culture and cultural management in practice.
- PLO 3: Objectively analyze and evaluate, based on scientific arguments, several in-depth research issues related to cultural management activities.
- PLO4: Systematically apply theories, research methods of cultural studies, and interdisciplinary research methods to research and teaching activities, solving academic problems related to the field of culture and cultural management.
- PLO 5: Identify key issues of culture and cultural history, from theory to practice; the fields, components, resources... of culture in the historical process and management activities; cultural issues, cultural management and sustainable development goals in Vietnam and around the world...
- PLO 6: Identify and resolve theoretical and practical issues of cultural management in social life.
- PLO 7: Creative solutions to cultural management problems through the implementation of research projects and doctoral dissertations, as well as in other scientific research and practical activities.
- POL 8: Design and implement research projects and present research results in the clearest, most persuasive, and professional manner possible.
- POL 9: Review and provide advice on theoretical issues, methods, and research results related to the thematic research direction.

4. Skill Output Standards
- PLO 10: Master the scientific theories and methods of cultural management.
- PLO 11: Identify and analyze complex scientific problems and propose innovative solutions to solve them; create new knowledge in their specialized field; possess the ability to synthesize collective intelligence; and lead in their expertise to address regional and international issues.
- PLO 12: Presenting and leading domestic and international discussions on scientific issues in the field of Cultural Management and disseminating research results.
- PLO 13: Implement an in-depth research topic or project related to cultural issues, and then advise on and create appropriate solutions/policies for cultural management policies.

5. Output standards regarding autonomy and responsibility.

- PLO 14: Independent research, creation of new knowledge, ability to share and exchange expertise, and provide scientific and policy advice based on expertise.
- PLO 15: Adapt, self-direct, and guide others in professional activities, making expert judgments and decisions.
- PLO 16: Possess professional ethics in conducting effective research, consulting, and advisory activities related to the field of cultural management.
- PLO 17: Possesses a sense of responsibility, works professionally and scientifically, maintains academic integrity, respects intellectual property rights, and cooperates in research, teaching, and cultural policy consultation.
6. Job positions after graduation     
After graduation, PhDs in Cultural Management can work in the following agencies and organizations:
- Participate in cultural management agencies from the central to local levels.
- Research and teaching on culture at universities, institutes, research centers, museums, archives, etc.
- Working in press and media agencies, or as an editor in publishing houses (cultural sector).
- Working in agencies within the political system that utilize cultural knowledge and cultural management skills.
- Working in non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations, centers, and development projects.

Continue to conduct self-study and learning, updating knowledge on theory, methods, and practices to serve research, teaching, and cultural management practice.
