Attending the opening ceremony were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University, Ms. Vu Thi Lien Huong - First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh - Head of the Department of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, along with faculty members and students. The course aims to create a professional learning environment where students have the opportunity to access modern methods of teaching Vietnamese to foreigners, stay updated on advanced educational trends, and gradually improve their pedagogical skills through knowledge exchange and sharing of practical experiences.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his joy and honor that the school continues to implement an in-depth training program in the field of teaching Vietnamese to foreigners and overseas Vietnamese. He emphasized that the course is built upon the long-standing teaching experience of a team of highly qualified lecturers, with a clear training roadmap, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of students' professional skills.
In particular, during this 23rd course, the University and Faculty were honored to provide free teaching and support to 10 teachers who are Vietnamese expatriates in Japan. Ms. Vu Thi Lien Huong, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, affirmed that these teachers are very passionate about the Vietnamese language and are also enthusiastic expatriates in preserving and spreading the Vietnamese language and culture within the Vietnamese community in Japan. This course has realized the close cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), along with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan. Ms. Huong expressed her gratitude for the enthusiastic support of the University and Faculty for the activities of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and hoped to further develop this good relationship.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Head of the Department of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed his gratitude for the attention given by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, and the University to the course "Methods of Teaching Vietnamese to Foreigners," which the Department is responsible for. Accordingly, with the Department's highly qualified and experienced lecturers, the course will help students acquire a solid theoretical foundation and develop effective practical skills in teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language.
Also at the opening ceremony, Dr. Bui Duy Duong, Deputy Head of the Department of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, emphasized the important role of systematic training and the establishment of a clear development roadmap for Vietnamese language lecturers. Furthermore, as a lecturer directly involved in teaching, Dr. Bui Duy Duong expressed his honor and responsibility in accompanying the students throughout the course.
This course features a well-structured and systematic training program, encompassing content on teaching methods for phonetics, vocabulary, and grammar, as well as identifying and addressing common learning errors. In addition, participants will receive guidance on lesson plan design, developing appropriate teaching materials, and engaging in practical activities to enhance their pedagogical skills.
The organization of this course contributes to improving the quality of Vietnamese language teachers for foreigners, while affirming the development direction of the Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in promoting in-depth training programs linked to practical needs and the internationalization of education. The course is also expected to create a network connecting lecturers and learners, promoting the exchange of expertise and teaching experience in this field.
