Research Overview:The research gap has been identified, showing that works on Buddhist practices and their relationship with mental health of Buddhists in Laos are still limited, lacking in systematization and depth from a sociological perspective.

 Building a theoretical framework:Analyze and clarify the core concepts: Buddhism, Buddhists, Buddhist practice, health, mental health; Build a theoretical framework on the relationship between forms of Buddhist practice and mental health of Buddhists.

Theoretical basis:The thesis has applied and analyzed based on the theory of Structure - Function and the theory of Social Action of Max Weber.

Experimental research results (in Saysettha district, Vientiane capital): 

Faith:Belief in the teachings of Karma and the Noble Eightfold Path is positively correlated with positive emotions, concentration, adaptability, and resilience.

Pray:Regular practice (chanting, repentance, vows) helps increase feelings of joy, energy and improve sleep.

Meditation:Strongly correlated with increased concentration, reduced stress and inner peace.

Offering:Contribute positively to mental health through developing gratitude and enhancing community connections.

The research results provide a scientific basis for the development of mental health care programs based on Buddhism; Policy makers and religious organizations can use the results to develop educational and communication activities to raise awareness of the benefits of Buddhist practice; …
